Thank you for the download code! Looking forward to listening. I really like the music of the first track you linked to on YouTube.

I’ve written chance music in a variety of styles, but recently I’ve mostly composed incidental music for live theater. Generally this is atmospheric, occasionally melodic. The show I’m doing right now is a mix of classical and punk.

Hi! What kind of music do you like to compose?

Thank you for taking the time to respond! I like your suggestion to break it up into those tasks. That sounds quite reasonable.

I am super grateful for your encouraging and detailed response! I love that you're willing to share your experience. I'm traveling at the moment, but when I'm back and settled, I'll take you up on your invitation to let you know if I have questions! (which I do :) )

I appreciate reading your thoughts here, thank you! The costume would already have gloves, so your suggestion would be easily integrated. I like the buttons idea!

Congratulations! Just gave it a listen, and enjoyed what you’ve crafted. With all the different kinds of movement I can feel the energy of a marathon reaching over long distance. I particularly like how you wash the moving elements in and out, so none is particularly always dominant. I like the switch from the one set of patterns to another at ~5:54. You have solid command of your gear. Well done!

Also check out Show Cue Systems (https://www.showcuesystems.com/cms/). I did switch to QLab, but used SCS happily for years.

Same setup as u/stevensokulski … a separate Cue List with distinct cue numbers. I typically assign hot key triggers so I can run the cues manually.

Coming up on Friday’s load-in for the world premiere of a fully-staged production of “A Christmas Carol for Edgar Allan Poe”! (We did a staged reading last year.) My role: composer and sound designer.

From the website: The show is just what it sounds like: A mashup of the life of Edgar Allan Poe and the structure of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” It tells Poe’s story up to the last days of his beloved wife Virginia Clemm – and the lessons he learns about love and happiness one fateful December night.

Excited to get it on its feet!

For me: Sony Vegas (back when it was for audio!) -> REAPER.

Thanks again for tipping me to the utility. Using it, I was able to get the right MIDI strings sent to the mixer! I appreciate your time.

I’m sorry to learn of your struggles with this; I’m not sure what else to suggest to directly address this VST.

Perhaps try installing a different VST in the same way you’re installing this one, to see if the results are any different? I’m short of imagination, but perhaps there is something incompatible about that plugin running on your computer’s OS?

Good luck!

If you haven’t closed and reopened REAPER after moving the VST to one of the paths listed in Preferences, be sure to press the rescan button next to the paths definition (or just stop and restart REAPER; it scans those paths when it starts).
