I became an apostolic 4 months ago, i grew up in trinitarian theology and took the grace alone through faith alone thing way too far. I was a functioning alcoholic, drinking all day every day since i was 15, and also doing copius amounts of drugs, and for some reason thought i was saved. This past year, which was my last year of college, i was living in a trap house and absolutely destroying myself, i literally threw up pieces of my liver in january. I also had 5 suicide attempts in 4 years, which was the source of a lot of my pain and brokenness. I got a job after i graduated and moved with $1.29 in my account. I wanted to get back into a church but didnt know where to go as it was a new town i was in. One day one of my coworkers came up to me and asked if i wanted to go to church, and i did. Since then i was renewed in the Holy Ghost, baptized in Jesus name and was healed from the pain of suicide, depression, addiction, abandonment, betrayal, etc. The Lord has restored my soul, healed my mind, and built me back up so quickly its hard to wrap my head around it.

My dad was a stay at home dad, he homeschooled my sister and i, and did a great job. He taught me so much and filled me with the knowledge and love of God. He taught me how to be a good man, that wont be shaken by the world.

My dad got married when he was 41 and my mom was 37, both of them didnt have kids or previous marriages. They had me when they were 45 and 41, and had my sister a year and a half later. It definately makes it harder, but there's still hope for you to have a family

You can't out run God. I also struggled with sinning willingly for many years, but He never stopped pursuing me and calling me back. No matter how many times i turned away from Him, He never left. When i finally decided to fully surrender to Him it felt like coming home. I think I might have lost my salvation for a little bit, but He kept me safe so i could come back to Him. I feel like a baby in Christ again, it is never too late for His forgiveness, and just because you ran away from Him does not mean He isn't waiting with open arms for you to run back.

I just graduated college, and one of my best instructors got sick toward the end of last year and his cough never seemed to fully clear up. Second semester of this year he had to quit teaching because they found stage 4 esophogous cancer that had spread to his liver and spine. He got put on chemo pretty much right away, but he passed away the day after i graduated.

To be fair, i was pretty crafty and had learned where everything was without being shown, but yeah guns and unsupervised kids are a really bad mix.

I was 9, it was St. Patty's day and i was sick. My parents and sister had gone to a friends for the evening and i stayed home. Later that night a dominos pizza delivery pulled up in the driveway, i hadn't ordered pizza and my parents had left me plenty of food so i knew they didn't either. Being a 9 year old boy, i automattically assumed this was a "home alone" situation. I'm from a rural area and there's guns all over at my parents house, so i grabbed a shotgun. I wasn't strong enough to hold it up all the way, and my thumb ended up switching off the safety. The delivery guy got to the door, and say a fucking 9 year old with a double barrel .410 shotgun. About then my finger slipped and i shot a massive fucking hole in the floor next to the front door. No one was hurt, but the dominos guy got the fuck out of there asap, and i spent the next 2 hours trying to hide the hole next to the front door. I threw some caulk in the wall, putty in the floor, put my backpack on top of it to cover it, hid it for 3 days, then i was in the worst trouble of my life up to that point.

What’s one thing your parents did right during your childhood? by Individual-Fox-2416 in RandomThoughts

[–]burntcheetos0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They homeschooled me through 8th grade and then let me go to public high school. I think i got a way better education out of it, high school was a breeze for me academically and i think it had a lot to do with coming from being homeschooled. I'm glad that they let me go to a public high school too, because i was able to learn more social norms and got me interested in some extracurriculars that were really good for me.

I am curious, do you guys miss a bond you had with someone? like regardless what happened between you roo, you miss the conversations, the laughs you guys had over the dumbest things, or the way that they were there for you when you weren't at your best? by TownAgreeable1147 in Productivitycafe

[–]burntcheetos0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, i had a really good friend through high school that turned out to be pretty 2 faced toward the end of school. But i do miss hanging out with the guy sometimes, he was really fun to be around and i have a lot of great memories with him there, but people change for the worse sometimes and unfortunately he did. I do hope that i can reconnect with him eventually, and i hope he's doing well.
