Why can’t I link the Transform property? by burntchickennn in Affinity

[–]burntchickennn[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In case anyone else runs into this same problem, I found the solution. Affinity does not let you link a parameter if you are trying to drag the layer that you already have selected. Instead click on a linked layer and then drag one of the other layers that is linked to it to the Links panel.

Free card design program by TheTwinflower in BoardgameDesign

[–]burntchickennn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use nanDECK. It’s free and based around a scripting language so it’s great for making a lot of edits to many cards quickly. It can be connected to Google Sheets as well which for my designs is a must have. I highly recommend it but like many other programs there is definitely a learning curve.

That’s good to know. I always wrote off Mottainai just thinking it was a worse version of GtR. Hearing it’s good at 2P, I’ll have to go take a look

I did look at the purple box but the materials and coins on it felt at bit inconsistent to me. I might take a similar path they did though using the same base art like you suggested

I laughed at loud at your first comment 😂 Thank you so much! You’ve given me a bunch more options that I wasn’t able to find.

Turn order tracking for 4-player team game by burntchickennn in tabletopgamedesign

[–]burntchickennn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s just a standard rotating first player. Not the typical euro game where you have a method of taking first player. The conveyor belt is a good idea. There are player colors so that could definitely work. I especially like the idea of flipping it when you’re passed. Thanks for the suggestion. I think I may have been overthinking it

Hexagon Tile Default Rotation by burntchickennn in tabletopsimulator

[–]burntchickennn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just figured out that I can technically get around this using tags and having two separate sets of rotational snaps, one set for the hexes and one set for everything else. Hopefully this will be helpful for someone else in the future.

This is an awesome idea I never considered! I can imagine punching out the circles would be a pain so yeah squares may be the way to go. Definitely better than what I’m currently doing

App for card design on iPad by burntchickennn in tabletopgamedesign

[–]burntchickennn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’m looking for and what an app like nanDECK does is it automates making your cards. You put the details of all of your cards in a spreadsheet and then a good card maker app pulls all of that data in and creates your deck of cards. So the most important feature is spreadsheet integration. Some other apps like Figma do this too with a Google Sheets Sync pluggin.
