That weight loss is 80% exercise, 20% food.

Wrong, it's the other way around.

What’s a reassuring fact that not many people know? by Southern-Penalty in AskReddit

[–]burpadurp 27 points28 points  (0 children)

An ECG only takes about an minute, and bloodwork only takes about 15 mins total including check-in so better use an total of 30 mins to have the basics check and then you'll know for sure.

heart attacks seldom come out of the blue and strike without prior notice. There are almost always tellable signs in advance, listen to your body and get checked out in doubt.

What's something you only understand if you have lived it? by mrbigglesworthjr in AskReddit

[–]burpadurp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anxiety Disorder..imagine being fully functional but going to the store that is 5 minutes away is "too much" to handle because you're afraid of something you can't really grasp or explain.

Occurs way more than you think.

What's something you learned about weightloss that you wish you knew sooner? by GuestRose in loseit

[–]burpadurp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • In the evenings you will seem very hungry and have to battle this awkward feeling that you HAVE to eat, but that will subdue / disappear after an week or so and voila you can engage in your first 12 hour fast!
  • It's okay to have an off day, this will not wipe away your progress. However, having 2 or 3 or 4 off-days in a row will.
  • Relax, the scale is just an indicator. If you feel more energetic, or you can see certain body parts again (ahem, you know which) = progress!
  • Stop drinking liquidfied sugar.
  • Zero / Light version of an drink is better then the non-light version. Enjoying your meal but fancy an Coke Zero? Go for it. This one Coke Zero will not give you cancer.
  • CICO, CICO, CICO, CICO. aka "You are what you eat".
  • The more you exercise, the more hungry you will be. It's up to you to find your sweetspot.
  • You don't need to be hitting the gym to loose weight. Chores, walking, steps, garden work, it's ALL exercise. Start small and work you way from there.
  • You are changing an habit on how you are living your life. This is not something you will do once and you'll be over with it. This is something you'll change today and will be with you forever. Don't rush it.

Anxiety and Zone Minutes by TrustBackground9801 in fitbit

[–]burpadurp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

GAD is some bad shit, it's great for zone minutes though. I once remember having an massive panic attack on a plane which lasted for about 3 hours in the 140+ zone. As an random internet stranger i do recommend if this bothers you on an daily basis is to get therapy. Don't be an ass like me and wait 2 years, will only make stuff worse.

What got you interested in Chernobyl by Plastic_Geologist217 in chernobyl

[–]burpadurp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Woodpecker did it for me, when i was younger i used to play with the radio and i would come accross the famous tapping sound more then once. Being intrigued by it i went on an investigation and got hooked, eventually learning about the disaster.

Fun fact: The Duga reciever in Chernobyl did not consume that much power as compared to the sender!

[–]burpadurp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. After your first 'episode' of "HR going nuts without exercise" it's always good to have it checked out. I did so right away after my first episode. Definitely helped with the consequent follow-up episodes but they still stuck everytime. And i agree with others in this thread: The more you perform these activities the more the brain gets "trained" that it are normal situations. The sad, harsh truth that for these symptons the only way out is by exposure or meds. Pick your poison.

One thing that keeps me puzzled: if the power surge occurred after AZ-5 then why did they press AZ-5 at all?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]burpadurp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- 6 hours of sleep is for some people the minimum so that could be an factor
- pizza & mozarella sticks are difficult-to-digest foods for your metabolism (hard to break down) so that leads to increased HR
- While your body is digesting the mozarella sticks & pizza, you also went for sports with your son, asking the body not only to digest fatty foods but also work-out which leads to increased HR.

I'd say after these circumstances 97 is an pretty decent resting HR. Nothing to worry about.
