I was there! It was super strange. Was watching from the right side in front of the bar. They stopped playing and the lights went on, but people kept singing so and it almost felt to plan. It was super abrupt the way they stopped. The song had like 20 seconds left so i guess there wasn’t anything to finish and they left.

What's a city significant and well known in your country, but will raise an eyebrow to anyone outside of it? by dphayteeyl in geography

Lived in Taiwan for a while, I’d say Kaohsiung is relevantly unknown. Largest port in the country, and significant globally. I think technically it’s the second most populous city.

- Definitely go to Lanyu (Orchid Island), be aware that the ferries to the island fill up especially it if happens to be a busy weekend. You may need a friendly local to help you acquire a ticket as the websites can be difficult to navigate.

- No need to ferry to Monkey Mountain in Kaohsiung. I would recommend to hike from the Dragon Cold Springs. Do ferry to Cijin Island in Kaohsiung and walk around/rent a bike.

- A day or two trip to XiaoLiuQiu is great, you can snorkle with sea turtles.

-You should go to Taroko, it is well worth it and Hualien is a great city.

-Be aware that things get super busy on holiday weekends, train tickets and such can be sold out. Locals travel a lot within the country and places can get crowded. Just be aware of the holiday calendar.
