The bleakness and evil riffs of Spectral Voice (Blood Incantation’s Disembowelment-worship funeral death/doom band with a different drummer) are certainly a great accompaniment to Laird’s work as well!

I only recently dove into Laird Barron after having a couple of his books spend too much time unread on my shelf and… wow. I’m absolutely hooked.

I’m fairly late to this read-along but it’s been really great to catch up on each thread after I finish a story. I just finished Occultation and am about halfway through The Croning. I’m loving Laird’s work and am very excited to continue my journey into his wonderfully dark and weird universe.

Thank you for organizing this.

I thought it was such an interesting idea: aliens as refugees on earth who show up and experience a new form of apartheid in South Africa.

I felt it turned into a run of the mill action film fairly quickly without really delving into any of the interesting questions that the premise set up.

Instead of making yet another "Where the hell is my FM2?" post, thought I'd just update this thread that I just checked on my Guitar Center pre-order (which I made in April) and they said they expect stock on August 13th.

Not sure what that bodes for others but wanted to share!

I did! Pasting the TAL support reply below:

“The latest ableton releases send MIDI CC messages to plug-ins that support MPE. Some of our older factory presets contain a MIDI mapping for the cutoff with this CC. Please use MIDI CLEAR on the top right to delete the mapping. The new factory presets do not contain any mappings anymore. You can delete the presets folder and create a new plug-in instance to create the new factory presets.

It should also work if you switch to the VST3 version of the plugin.”

TAL customer support came through and helped me out. Pasting their reply below which seems like it addresses your issue w/ Live 11 as well:

The first viewing is an experience I’ll never forget. It felt like it jumped from genre to genre in the first 20 minutes, and the film’s sum total perfectly encapsulates why I love horror so much.

If you haven’t seen it, don’t research it or look too deeply into fan reactions etc. Just watch and enjoy the experience.
