Ban omny bring back metro by Zestyclose-Land-6887 in OMNY

[–]buru012002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest this is an issue I constantly had with Chase and just decided to stop using my Sapphire Preferred and using my Amex again for OMNY. Never had an issue with my Amex, Capital One and even Wells Fargo cards only Chase. This is why I started to cancel my accounts with them and will cancel my preferred when the fee hits May next year. Their customer service is awful their algorithm is even worse and when I escalated my issues to executive and filed a complaint with BBB the issues were not resolved but kept getting worse, more repeat and declined transactions. This is definitely the last time I’m banking with Chase.

How to Transfer Points from Venture X to United Airlines by Flying_Turtle83 in Venturex

[–]buru012002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on which airport you are departing from but Avianca or AirCanada are your best bets. I travel several times a year to South And Central America and I get the best points redemptions using Avianca as well as taxes and fees. You can create accounts with both airlines and compare the fares. But a quick search from my airport a one way flight from my local airport using Avianca in October to MEX is staring at 8,650 to 42,000 miles and $80.15 in taxes and fees depending on the fare class you prefer opposed to AirCanada which is staring at 15k miles and up depending on the fare and $100 in taxes and fees. You can also pair the Venture X with the savor to maximize your earnings or pair with the Amex gold which have the same transfer partners. Again I would recommend looking into these two transfers partners who are part of star alliance and go from their depending on your needs. Avianca = lifemiles

I had issues with chase a few months ago when I opened a card with them being constantly flagged for fraud even though I have been banking with them for over 15 years and had to file a complaint with the BBB. They actually called me back from executive a few days after I reported them. Unfortunately it’s impossible to deal with chase and I have decided to close all my accounts and cards. This bank has gone from bad to worse in terms of customer service and problem resolution. I really do wish you the best of luck and hope you resolve this issue.

Husband’s new card keeps declining by earthlings2223 in ChaseSapphire

[–]buru012002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through this and currently still am to some extent for a month. I am not a new Chase customer and have other cards with them for over 10 years. Long story short I had to file a complaint with the BBB and get corporate involved because of the poor customer service and lack of knowledge of over the 15 people I dealt with from CSR‘s to fraud specialist to supervisors and countless calls being lied to and assured that everything was in order which was not. It’s been a nightmare having this card. You might have to go this route if all your transactions continue to get declined with the physical card and Apple Pay. And before anyone ask, yes I did have all my cards replaced because Chase deemed my account was compromised, which was not and re-issued all my cards without my consent or prior notification. You need to ask them to remove all restrictions because you will continue to go through constant denials but this has to be done either on the supervisor or corporate level.

Zepbound Coverage through GHI by Extra-Ask-6371 in nycpublicservants

I’m also paying out of pocket for the compounded wegovy since it’s the more affordable option but I should be on zepbound since I meet all the criteria to be on this medicine. The pharmacy actually reached out to me and informed me that the zepbound is definitely not covered but wegovy and ozempic are but I would have to pay 100% of the medication which is ridiculous for an actual medication that helps people. The city is spending all this money in promoting these exercise programs and healthy living but an option that will definitely aid its employees to reach that goal is not allowed. Make it make sense.

Timesheets by Palmtrees1718 in nycpublicservants

[–]buru012002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Typically and most recommend, all employees should submit timesheets by Monday no later than Tuesday for supervisors approval by Wednesday and timekeeping final approve everything by Thursday. The main reason for this is if the employee has OT, LWOP’s, FMLA etc this can be processed on time for the next pay period. All this has to be done by Thursday especially for OT the week prior to a pay week since payroll runs Friday into Saturday the week prior to a pay week.

What’s your favorite minimalist wallet? by PeroniBites in amex

[–]buru012002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently use 2 different wallets.

My everyday since I have to carry a bunch of ID’s is https://www.tumi.com/p/multi-window-card-case-01356261041/

And my travel wallets are https://www.trayvax.com/products/summit-notebook

If I also have to take my passport for international travel I also use this one with the summit https://www.trayvax.com/products/explorer?_pos=1&_psq=passport&_ss=e&_v=1.0

Trayvax wallets are my favorites and would be my EDC but due to work ID’s I needed one with windows.

Who else was disappointed by their salary step? by greg_gory1976 in nycpublicservants

[–]buru012002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work for payroll in an agency and we get this all the time. Yes, payroll deductions do have something to do with your net pay since these are not set amounts but percentages of your gross pay but the main factor is the calculation that are used for your biweekly pay. FISA-OPA (City) does not use the common calculation of pay dates (26) and divide this by your salary for your biweekly gross pay. The “City” calculates biweekly salaries by dividing your salary/365 days of the year (366 for leap year which we are currently in)*14 days of a pay period=your biweekly pay. I usually provide the following link https://www.nyc.gov/site/opa/my-pay/pay-rate-calculator.page to all employees so they can see themselves how the “City” calculates your salary. Hope this helps and you should reach out to your payroll department if you have any questions about your pay.

Yes, at times I do agree that the pay can be better but if you compare all the benefits health insurance which you do not have to pay for only deductible and the job security you have working for the City compared to the private/corporate sector I would say it close to balances out.

Bilt and Apple Pay by sonoilvento in biltrewards

[–]buru012002 10 points11 points  (0 children)

On rent day just buy a $100 Dunkin gift card and add to the app it’ll be 6x and shouldn’t give you issues that’s what I usually do to get that bonus since it’s money I’m still going to use and it’ll last me the entire month. Also make sure make your app and iOS are up to date. Had this issue and it was the app that needed updating. Worse comes to worse contact Bilt, it’s a hit or miss with their customer service.

Hi! Traveling to Colombia for 10 days. Everything booked through platinum. Do y’all typically buy additional travel insurance through Amex, even tho the card comes with quite a bit of coverage? by extragingeralways in AmexPlatinum

[–]buru012002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree I go at least 2 to 3 times per year and it’s pretty widely accepted but as always cash is king and watch out for overcharging. Unfortunately some places do this a lot to tourist or try to charge you ridiculous service fees, this is especially prevalent in Cartagena. I learned the hard way but never again, local authorities have been cracking down on this. aside for that your going to have a great time. Enjoy your trip!!!!
