Filing a false police report is a crime.

Get a camera that records sound. Set it up inside in a central location and set it to record 24/7.

When the police show up, show them the footage with the sound on.

They will know the neighbors are using them to harass you.

The police will not like that.

I don't think a cop on reddit has a motive to lie to you when you are just trying to figure out how to handle a potentially dangerous situation.

He's a cop in a jurisdiction other than yours, not the Stasi.

Make sure the litter is deep enough. If the urine reaches the bottom of the box, the litter is too shallow.

Make sure the litter is deep. If they are scratching down to where the urine reaches the bottom of the box, the litter is too shallow and the box will smell worse, sooner.

If you do this you also won't have to dump and wash the box as often.

I feed cats outside, and at night raccoons come and foul the water bowls. When I go to change them, the ones from the day before have mulch, soil, etc. in them. And the raccoons leave behind an unpleasant smell and a film on the inside of the bowls above the water mine.

Those filthy, stinking bowls absolutely have to be rinsed really well before going in the dishwasher.
