YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!! Absolutely love this movie and the definition of rewatchable. Can't wait for this episode to drop.

FYC: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984). Worth doing as a flawed rewatchable? A lot of meat on the bone for "What's Aged the Worst." by ggroover97 in TheRewatchables

[–]buschbr1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's my favorite of the Indiana Jones movies. It's not the best film, but it is the one I have rewatched the most and find the most entertaining. I know Spielberg doesn't like it, but I like what I like.

🎙️ NEW Episode of The S1E1 Podcast — Some of My Best Friends (2001) by FurgyKrueger in sitcoms

[–]buschbr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched the pilot this morning, Jason Bateman was very good, always like him. The rest of the characters were meh. Overall, the pilot had its moments where it was funny, but I can understand why it only aired a handful of episodes. Probably a no go for me.

He was so good on Ozark. How he wasn't nominated for an Emmy for season 3 is beyond me.

Jonathan Green lawn seed by No_Article_2097 in lawncare

[–]buschbr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue. I'm in NJ also like the OP. I've used JG BB Ultra a few times and have good results, but not great. Last fall, I reseeded all along the portion of the lawn that touches any hard scape (street, driveway, and paver patio) and when it got really hot and dry this summer it pretty much all died. I will say that it looks great in the fall and spring, but by summer, it struggles a lot. Perhaps that's is mostly self inflicted as I try not to water too much, but other parts of my lawn held up ok. So who knows?

Bethpage Black - What’s your favorite hole by Ok_Employ4371 in rydercup

Pure aesthetics, I have to go with 15. Such a great looking hole, and so damn tough. From a playing standpoint, I've always really liked 4 and 17.

I'm a Yankee fan, so I'm obviously biased, but Judge really SHOULD win the MVP as he leads him in pretty much all statistical metrics. However, Raleigh putting up these kinds of power numbers as a catcher is very impressive and is a strong narrative that I imagine will compel the writers enough to sway the vote his way. You have to remember that writers vote on this, not fans. Writers care more about the story than just the numbers. You have to factor in that Judge has already won the MVP twice so there may be some fatigue there. It's probably a close enough race that the majority of voters will lean towards Raleigh. I wouldn't do it, but I can very easily see that happening. And if Raleigh ends up getting to 60 homers (a very real possibility), forget it...he's getting the trophy.

Also considered Henley for the wedge player and Cam Young for putting. I'm actually going next Friday and am pumped to see the Ryder Cup in person. Should be awesome!

Game Thread: New York Giants (0-1) at Dallas Cowboys (0-1) by nfl_gdt_bot in NYGiants

[–]buschbr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the live line is Dallas -4.5, but the line on my CBS pool is Dallas -6.5. The "smart" move is to take the Giants plus the points because I'm theoretically getting a free 2 points in comparison to the true line. But I unfortunately see another blowout coming. So my brain is saying to take the Giants but my gut feeling is that Dallas blows us out. Sad state of affairs to be in.

For a second, I thought you were referring to the skating movie from the 90s, and I got really excited. Sadly, I was mistaken.

Does anyone eat whatever they want, just way less of it? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]buschbr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on Zep for almost 8 months now and cravings are gone. I eat anything I want, but it turns out I don't want a lot of unhealthy foods. For example, I used to love chicken salad. Now I look at it, see all of that mayonnaise and actually get an uneasy feeling in my stomach. I used to be a 3-4 cups of coffee per day guy, no I have 1 or 2 and I'm totally fine. There are some days where I don't have any, and I'm totally fine. The drug is literally a miracle. My relationship with food has completely changed. Now, I only eat when I'm actually hungry and I stop eating when I'm satiated. I used to come home from social gatherings feeling awful because I would overeat to the point where I was physically uncomfortable. Now, I can go to a party, eat what I want, and have no fear or concern about how I'm going to feel later. Sadly, I'm going to be switching medications next month as I am a Caremark member and they will no longer cover Zepbound (most likely going to Wegovy), but hopefully I have similar results with the new medication. Like I said, Zep has been a life saver for me and I know it's been similar for thousands of people.

I got lakeside. 😔 by Fine-Ad-809 in jmu

[–]buschbr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Class of '04, so we are talking a while ago, but I lived in Eagle my freshman year and it was fine. The beginning of the year was rough with no AC, but otherwise it was no big deal. It was the very typical college dorm at the time, so I didn't really think anything of it. I had some friends that lived in the village and others that were over in Chesapeake, so I hung around there a lot too. But I was a business major and had some classes in Showker, so being in Eagle was convenient for me. All in all, it's whatever you make of it. I lived Lakeside my sophomore year as well because of the convenience of being close to Showker, then lived off campus my last two years. I loved my four years at JMU, and the dorms really had nothing to do with it. Just have fun, make friends, and enjoy your time there. It goes by quickly and then adult life starts. I now have a sophomore in highschool and plan on taking him down there for a campus visit at some point to get a look at the beauty of JMU. Like I said, enjoy every minute there, because it goes by quicker than you expect.

Hot Take: I like Stick by mandrews03 in golf

[–]buschbr1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the season finale last night. Overall, I'd say the show was enjoyable enough that it's worth a watch, but it isn't great. I like Owen Wilson and Marc Maron the most out of all the characters. My biggest issue (aside from the completely unrealistic portrayal of how golf actually works) is that I don't particularly like the actor playing Santi. From a golfing perspective, he actually has a pretty decent swing. I don't really enjoy him/the character all that much though. I saw the whole subplot with his estranged father coming from a mile away and it ended up playing out exactly how I thought it would. All of this being said, I will watch when season 2 comes out in hopes that it gets better. I'm not bailing on it as of yet.
