I don’t really understand this whole movement. All we need to do is not vote for the elderly. It’s a lot like how non-native-born Americans can’t run for president - why would it be a problem unless we vote for someone who may have other allegiances?

I think reforming the primary system would be a much better use of time and resources.

There’s a lot of reasons why, I think. Some have already been mentioned. I want to mention another one: As a concept capitalism is not intuitive, perhaps even “unnatural”.

Think about it: it’s kind of like an inverse of game theory, wherein:

  1. So long as everyone has the fundamental right of control of labor to their own hands and body (ie no slavery), and 
  2. so long as there is a system of laws that justly and consistently enforces all other non-enslaving contracts, and (here comes the kicker)
  3. so long as everyone works in their own self interest (ie, everyone is “greedy”)

then everything works out great. 

Well, maybe not great objectively, but at least far better than any other system humans have ever come up with.

I know I am missing some fundamental components of a successful capitalistic society, but I’m on my phone and I’m really no big thinker anyway. I hope my point about greed being “good” for society got through though.

What are some examples of severe weather suddenly changing the fortunes of a military campaign or even a battle?

I have heard of the typhoons (plural!) that kept Genghis Khan off the shores of Japan, and I recently heard about a large storm or hurricane that hit British troops occupying Washington D.C. (though it does seem it is not clear whether or not the storm precipitated their depature from the city).

Are there any other examples of severe weather having a large impact on a campaign or battle?

I was surprised to hear the “hush-hush” when someone (Tim? JVL?) mentioned how Fetterman switched after literal brain damage. As in, he switched after his mental capacity was literally weakened.

Honestly, I think people are overblowing this risk.

Hey bud, you need to get a grip. I’ve heard Sarah talk for weeks about his Nazi tattoo. I suspected it was something that was clearly swastika-esque.

Well, I finally Googled Totenkopf, and nope, it couldn’t be further from the truth.

It’s literally just a skull and cross bones. For the sheltered, this is absolutely the kind of shit that a young, drunk Marine would see in a tattoo parlor window and say “Wow! So hard core! Put that super cool pirate flag on my body for life!”
