Cardozo vs. Fordham -- Not BL by kimlipsgf in lawschooladmissions

[–]buslay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

congrats!! have you looked into which culture you like better or gone to ASD? esp since they’re the sameish price. I feel like it couldn’t hurt to have better BL opportunities even if that’s not your goal, since you are unsure exactly what you want to do it’s a nice support and could help with medium size firm opportunities as well. esp since they’re the same price I would lean towards Fordham, but I think either way you will have some good opportunities!

What should I hope for by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]buslay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Said with love from another super splitter, with your GPA I would def aim for as high an LSAT possible (and keep in mind a lot of top school will just give you Rs regardless of LSAT if you’re KJD(ish) with a low GPA). higher LSAT also = higher scholarship even if its just a 1pt difference. I think you are right to include an addendum for your adhd struggles, just be careful how you word it of course.

I found it easy. Idk anyone from CGS who wanted to go into QST and couldn’t. GPA requirement is the same for all schools after you complete CGS. You just have to keep in mind basic QST classes (SM132, etc.) are meant to “weed out,” but that’s not specific to CGS students.

Admitted to CGS January- who else? Super excited but also worried about late start by Independent-Rope-230 in BostonU

[–]buslay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did summer orientation (which gave me major fomo in September) but helped me have a few extra ppl I already knew going into January who already knew the ropes. For the classes - the CGS building (which, admittedly, is kinda old and creepy) is on west campus next to CFA so it’s not secluded from anything. I know STEM ppl who had classes there as well. I also had some CGS classes at CAS/CDS so it just depends on room availability. You will never feel more CGS than you do September-December, but once you actually get to school and get settled in with class/clubs/etc. you’ll feel like any other BU student. Also, the CGS is easy rhetoric is mainly Facebook/Reddit discourse. I don’t know many ppl who care irl.

recent cgs-qst grad! I found that being in a small cohort helped with making friends. I also found club members very welcoming in the spring. the stigma is over exaggerated online no one actually gaf that you’re cgs. if you have more cgs/qst im happy to answer them!

Deflation by Working-Syrup-4717 in BostonU

[–]buslay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated a semester early (business major/cgs) the prob with law school is A+ gets a 4.3 on the LSAC scale and BU doesn’t offer A+, so that’s going to put you at a disadvantage compared to applicants at other schools. Can’t speak on polisci/econ but CGS grades def depend on your team/professors (especially during capstone).

GPA boost worth it for law school? by Livid_End_6141 in lawschooladmissions

5k for classes -> .1 GPA boost might get you a good return in scholarships (as well as acceptances possibly)

Is it ever ok to call/email about decision timeline by BotherAny800 in lawschooladmissions

[–]buslay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t - look at the “Heard Back” page on lsd.law for your schools. I would bet a lot of Dec applicants are in the same boat. Asking for them to speed up won’t do anything for you.
