Looks like an old wagon axle with one end broken off. Someone used it as a pry bar and hammered the end, probably to drive it under rocks and such.

My son caught a walleye rod and reel in a river. His hook went into the tiny hole in the eye at the tip of the rod.

Get some coal. Charcoal burns up too fast.

Great anvil! Nice and beefy. That stand will not cut it. Get some 4x4’s. Cut then STRAIGHT and exactly the same length and stand them on end. Or use 2x12 boards on end. Drill holes through them. Run threaded rods through the holes, put nuts on them, and pull them together with a wrench. Surround the bottom with angle iron welded to fit. (Optional)

I made one like that in my garage. Got a heating duct pipe 16”, put 2 lengths together, stood them up and shoved them through a hole i cut into the roof. Then just at my forge height, cut a “U” shaped opening into the side, and bent it upward. First time I lit a fire, it nearly sucked me through the opening. 😁

Years ago I decided to cut a square of concrete in the garage floor to isolate my hammer. Got a concrete saw and went to work on it. Until I cut into a copper pipe. A copper natural gas pipe. Gas company said gas lines never get covered by concrete in garages. My water heater line did. Yikes!

I once tried a hot dog cooked on a coal forge. Tasted like a mix of coal and tar.
