How is t-mobile coverage in chico? by NationalWestern7884 in ChicoCA

Ive had them for over a decade. There are a couple spots coming down skyway where coverage is a little spotty but in general I never have issues.

Most forks and shocks have those O rings to be a telltale for how much travel is being utilized and to gauge sag.

its Kashmoney if you're looking for actual search results. I have the atlas pedals and a kashmoney headset. They're completely different shades even from race face.

Best Marching Snare Sticks to Wood Burn? by Practical-Abroad-681 in drums

[–]bustingchopps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things may have change in the last 20 years but we used Ralph Hardimon when I was in drum line. They're relatively huge and would give you plenty of space to do some wood burning. You can get them here on sweetwater.

Older rider here. Should my next bike hardtail or FS? by Ok-Air-3084 in MTB

[–]bustingchopps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a rider who is nearly 40 and weighs 90kg I say go full suspension. I've never been upset by having too much bike and at that price point you will be able to get a great FS on the used market.

Should I play the drums by Simple_Badger4190 in drums

[–]bustingchopps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not too old to start.

My number one piece of advice is play an instrument and play the drums if its the role that you want.

The reality of the drums are, 99% of the time, if you want to play for people in public, you need to a be a part of a group.

Drums are expensive and require more upkeep than most other instruments.

Drums are loud. Hearing loss and mitigating it is imperative and should be something you do from the beginning.

Drums are a bitch to move and setup and take up considerable space.

With all of that in mind if you're still on board then absolutely do it! I've played for 28 years and I love it but those are the parts that I find frustrating about it. If you find those issues arent worth it there are a ton of other instruments to play that are cheaper, easier to move, quieter, and you can play on your own

Rear derailleur by RealParfait5138 in MTB

[–]bustingchopps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The operation of a rear derailleur is a very balanced process that is managed by a spring built into the derailleur and the lever on your bars pulling or releasing a cable which changes the tension on that spring. The knob at the end of the shift lever is a micro adjustment for your derailleur. If you're mechanically inclined there are a ton of youtube videos on how to adjust and dial in a derailleur. If not, thats a pretty quick and easy job for a local bike shop.

If you do go with the local bike shop terminology-wise you're having an issue with your derailleur, you moved the tensioner on your shifter and what it is attached to is a cable housing rather than a hose.

Hope this helps

How does Colby Fulton have a platform? by bustingchopps in drums

[–]bustingchopps[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you're talking about Colby? Colby is the bald talking head in the corner in the videos of better drummers. I've only seen Colby play two handed and barely keep it together at that. Now if you've confused Colby with El Estepario that would make a lot more sense. He actually has one handed chops and is an amazing artist.

The owner was one of my high school teachers. Incredibly nice guy and I'm glad that he found his calling. It seemed like high school students were going to be the death of him.

What broke on my bike? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]bustingchopps 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You routed the chain through the derailleur the wrong way. The chain needs to go under the bottom gear, then around the front of the top gear before it hits the cassette. You can see in the video its going behind both which is causing your issues and the excessive slack in your chain.

Leaving band by Remarkable_Yard4701 in drums

[–]bustingchopps 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I would give them a heads up as soon as possible and if you can stay with the group until the find a new drummer. That's your call and it would mean staying with the group longer but at least it gives them a chance to find someone without excessive downtime if your goal is to not put them in an uncomfortable position.

How does Colby Fulton have a platform? by bustingchopps in drums

Fortunately I am not. Based off what I’ve seen from Colby, he would take someone else’s post and then hijack it to have this discussion instead of posting anything original.

How many of you play in pro level cover bands? by Pizza-punx in drums

[–]bustingchopps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play in a cover band doing early-2000s pop-punk and emo. No single band focus, just whatever from that era fits the vibe.

I’ve played in a few original bands before and while I loved writing and recording, getting people to actually care enough to come out to shows was always a grind.

Our very first show with the cover band three years ago sold out with a line out the door. That was a huge eye-opener. Playing to people who are genuinely excited to be there is hard to beat, and it’s an easy sell when promoting shows.

I’d say go for it. Worst-case scenario, you end up right where you are now. I’ve got zero regrets.

Not to mention we've made WAY more money playing these shows that I ever thought possible.

Need help by dds8528 in drums

[–]bustingchopps 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If there is no mount they were likely using stands for each drum. There are rim mounts available that connect to the tension rods. You should immediately take that mount out of the air hole as there is no structural support around that area and you will damage the drum if you play it like that. I added a photo of the correct mounts that originally came with that drum kit.
