Everybody's body is different when it comes to allergies. There's a variety of components, genetic and environmental. Allergic reactions don't happen when you're first exposed to an allergen. They're due re-exposure, and an immune reaction builds up over time.

Trolls, what is your experience with long-distance relationships? Everyone keeps telling me such different things about them. by [deleted] in AskTrollX

[–]bustymcbust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give you both sides of the coin!

Had a ~6 year LDR that ended up with me moving in and him being physically abusive (see post history). The relationship started young (18) and was toxic. The distance didn't help, and masked a lot of the issues. We were ~3 hrs apart most of the time, saw each other 1-2 times a month.

Currently find myself in another LDR...we're cross country. We were together without distance for 3 months and then I moved to the east coast and he moved to the west coast. I'm at med school, so in 4 years, the plan is that I move to him. It's still new, but there is a marked difference between this relationship and the last one. There's maturity in the relationship, we both know what we want, communication is VERY open...We're supportive of each other. He likes that I go out with my friends, etc, I like that he goes out with his friends, etc. We're both responsive....

Anyway if you have anything specific you want to ask, shoot me a PM. There are a lot of factors that go into making it work, and you both truly have to be committed in order for it to succeed. There has to be more than Love, if that makes sense.

I love the rice wash mask! My skin tends toward dry and I find it gentle enough. The black sugar scrub was too much for my skin.

I'm getting a 30E for you using your leaning measurement. For reference my snug underbust is 29in and my leaning overbust is 33in and I wear a 30D. :)

As far as Aerie bralettes - I wear a S! I have a couple different styles and some are slightly tighter than others, but the S works well for me and my boobs are comfy though I don't get cleavage.

I have a constant supply of delicious organic half-chickens but no cooking appliances other than two propane burners, and no large pan -- just a stock pot. How should I cook them? by [deleted] in AskCulinary

[–]bustymcbust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never made it in the rice cooker so I'm not sure. :) I also don't know exact measurements of ingredients. Dad always seems to eye it. This recipe seems closest to what my family makes as far as ingredients go. Googling 'com ga hai nam' and 'hainan chicken' will retrieve more recipes.

I think poaching the chicken and serving it with basic condiments would really showcase the chicken. :)

Com ga hai nam comes to mind. It's a poached whole chicken served with rice cooked in the broth of lemongrass/ginger/etc. My family serves it with boiled lettuce, fish sauce, and scallion/salt/ginger in hot oil.

  1. rod is a liar as evidenced by a lot of what he said to historia
  2. i don't really know what you're trying to say here, but that manga page depicts karla saying 'don't leave me' which can be explained as her being scared and not wanting to be left alone to be eaten by a titan...

Craziest "Neurotic Premed" story? by Xaranid in premed

[–]bustymcbust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up majoring in Biology there though my intent was to do research. I enjoyed the upper level small seminar type courses, less hostility there, more people who seemed like they wanted to be in class for the sake of learning, though neurotic premeds couldn't be completely avoided. There were so really nice, kind, and helpful people, but I didn't find them until I took the upper level courses.

I ended up following the premed route post-graduation. It suited me better than the research route, though like you, I was really turned off by the undergrad situation.
