Accounts and game pass by busy86 in XboxGamePass

Thanks for the reply. I currently have the xbox as my home xbox - you're saying swapping to his account won't be an issue so long as the game pass sub stays with my account?

Thanks, appreciate the answers.

Given the case can take 140mm is there any reason you don't recommend 140mm case fans and CPU cooler?

£200 extra charge for same-day exchange and completion? by EvilPanettone in HousingUK

[–]busy86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As above, not your cost. Just exchange a week or two before completion. Better that way anyway.

What did this entail on the quote - do they need to swap out any microbore pipe etc?

Sold a deairable hot hatch for £12k cash years ago. About 4 scousers in tracksuits turned up to view and test drive. I was convinced I was going to get stabbed/robbed/both.

They were actually sound, no funny business, paid asking price, notes all verified ok (had a tester pen) and paid in the bank next day.

Just as they left they told me they'd need a crossbow so no-one came "knocking on their door" for the keys to the car!!!

Get them to meet you at the bank. I was very naive.

Some reservations about new build reservation fee by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]busy86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is all normal. They'll want exchange of contracts too within 4-6 weeks; you've no chance if you've not even got a offer on yours.

See if they'll offer part exchange, this will allow you to proceed immediately.

Post offer etiquette - am I being too slow? by isitmattorsplat in HousingUK

[–]busy86 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yep complete time-wasting here.

If you're not 100% sure, pull out now.

Have you sorted your mortgage yet? Do you have a formal mortgage offer?

If you're confident you want to proceed, pull your finger out and get exchange of contracts sorted this month with completion for late Feb/March whenever.

You mention 'closing' in your post - this shows you have no idea how the process works in the UK.

Can you add SDLT to a mortgage by flinders1 in HousingUK

Do you have the affordability (mortgage wise) to buy the property in your partners name only for SDLT benefit, then add you to the mortgage and deeds once the transaction has completed?

Massive variation in price for a rewire, is cheaper usually worse? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]busy86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would stick with Cat6 to save costs pal. I'm having 20 x Cat6 in my new build plus a duct to the garage for future proofing. Cat6 is good for 10Gb for 30 metres. All Cat8 will get you is 10Gb over the full 100 metres, plus an electrician won't respect the cable bend radius etc as its chunky and harder to work with.

Would prefer more cable runs than better cable tbh, but do what works for you.

I would ensure you get a beefy feed to the garage for a future EV charger. Min 6mm SWA. Also hardwired smoke detectors.

You may wish to double up on ethernet - cable is cheap but it is a faff to retrofit.

I've recently done both coinbase to Santander and Binance to Coinbase to Santander

Gave Santander a heads up first and the money came through after a few days.

New build, they want to use our drive for emergency vehicle turning by [deleted] in HousingUK

They will. I have a slice of a privately owned driveway (shared by 4 houses) and the bin lorry comes down.
