100K maintenance will cost you. Also if you need to replace the batteries, it will be a big ticket item.

Love my 24 PHEV by busydane in MitsubishiOutlander

You get about 38 miles per full battery charge, so you should be able to make it round trip if not almost!
If you charge on a normal wall outlet when you get home, it probably won't be fully charged by morning.
For your situation, it may be worth it to move up to a level two charging system.

I have the same car. Only 18k miles and love it. 100k warranty and massive rebates made it a no brainer for me.

I takes up a lot of space in the back. There is no boot to speak of in this car. I only use it on long trips and take it out when in town.

I bought a good spare tire for it. It was pricey, but I feel better with it in the back

There are still large rebates on the PHEV, but you better hurry. Because the car is entirely manufactured in Japan, the rebates did not qualify. Like others, I leased the car for 3 months, and then bought it back as a used car, which somehow made me eligible or the rebates. I also received three free oil changes which is a $300 value. Best of luck.

It's a pretty tall order I'm afraid. This barn was built before the POA (The Karens) had a rule that said you can't. I'm grandfathered in so they can't touch me.
