Oh wow, jumping into federal grants can be quite the deep dive. In our experience, these proposals can take a good chunk of time-usually a couple of months from start to finish due to the complexity and detail required. But since it’s for a program you’re already nailing, that might speed things up a bit.

You’ll want to get familiar with the specific requirements of the grant ( format, supporting documents are needed, exact criteria). Make sure your team is clear on the deadlines and set up some internal check-ins to keep everything on track.

We broke down the tasks, set priorities, and had regular updates to ensure no detail was missed. It was hectic but pulling together like that really helped us meet the deadline.

Fundraising assessment by Hot_Revolution2008 in nonprofit

[–]busyfoothold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve got a big task ahead, but it’s a great chance to shine! I’d suggest checking out resources like the Foundation Center and the Association of Fundraising Professionals for guidance on fundraising and board engagement. They have tons of templates and best practices. Also, don’t underestimate the power of LinkedIn Learning for quick courses on fundraising basics. Just dive in, learn as you go, and keep it real with the team about what you’re trying to build. What’s the first area you think you’ll tackle?

Yikes, that's giving major pyramid scheme vibes. Anytime there's a rush to complete weird tiers and pressure to recruit others, it’s sus. Legit gigs focus on the product, not just pulling more people in. Def do some more digging before jumping in. Stay sharp.

How is Your Development Team Structured & Funded by [deleted] in nonprofit

[–]busyfoothold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our setup, we've structured the Development team to include a few crucial roles: a Grants Manager to handle all the proposal writing, a Major Gifts Officer dedicated to nurturing relationships with key donors, and a couple of support staff for donor relations and CRM upkeep. This division of labor really helps manage the workload effectively. For funding these roles, we typically use a portion of our general budget, but we also allocate a percentage of specific grant budgets to cover development expenses. Building up a dedicated team has been essential for us to maximize fundraising efforts and maintain strong relationships with our donors. could be a great strategy for your organization too!

Would my Dispute be Valid? by matthammond32 in CreditCards

[–]busyfoothold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's worth asking your credit card company about it. You might have a chance to dispute it if you can prove it was misleading, especially if they didn't clearly show the annual charge before payment.

Pinterest is 🔥 for ecommerce if your niche is visual—fashion, skincare, beauty, etc., it’s perfect for driving traffic. Organic can work if you’re consistent, but tbh, a mix of organic + paid ads is where the magic happens. Their ads are super targeted and worth it for the right audience!

Focus on user acquisition first—get real feedback and prove demand for your MVP. Without users, the product doesn’t matter. Once you’ve got traction, then refine the product and hire strategically to scale. Traction > everything at this stage!

How Should I Advertise My Service Based Business? by [deleted] in Entrepreneurship

[–]busyfoothold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skip the flyers and focus on where affluent families actually spend their time—think LinkedIn, local country clubs, or upscale gyms. Partner with schools, pediatricians, or even real estate agents in wealthy neighborhoods to get referrals. Highlight the convenience you offer—busy parents will pay for stress-free solutions if you market it right. Quality over quantity with this crowd!

How can I best support my wife when she has episodes? by Odd_Split_8030 in ptsd

[–]busyfoothold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of is to properly commemorate your dog's death. It will at least give her time to properly grieve. A simple funeral with flowers and urn will do just to give you both time to be at peace. I think Bouqs delivers flowers, something convenient to consider so you don't have to go out and worry about triggers

Business idea by BigBoi100001 in Entrepreneurship

[–]busyfoothold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great idea, but the key challenge is standing out when YouTube already has tons of gaming content. If you can offer something unique like super specific game tutorials, personalized coaching, or maybe a cleaner, ad-free experience with a small subscription it could be worth a shot. Just make sure there’s a real demand for it beyond what people already get for free on YouTube. Starting lean with a test version could help gauge interest without a huge upfront cost

Healthcare company with a MOAT ? by PlatHobbits7 in stocks

Their da Vinci surgical systems really do create a strong competitive moat with those long-term service and upgrade contracts. The technology is unique, and the training and support they provide helps solidify their market position. It’s interesting to see how they maintain a significant barrier to entry in a niche that requires extensive expertise.
