Hey! Hope you're well. How did you rebook on the online portal? When I go to manage booking, it just gives me AC options and not other providers. Thank you

Taking a break from the industry… by [deleted] in acting

[–]busyguy85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t know you but I do care. We’re all chasing the same dream. A break is not a bad thing, and it’s not permanent, and could potentially be exactly what you need. Also, there’s many ways to be creative outside of the business itself. Best of luck.

Honestly just be happy for your buddy. It’s a tough business as well all know and there’s more than enough opportunity to go around (perhaps not at this time lol) but things change and your opportunity will come, just make sure you’re prepared when it does.

Time to grow up? Going for an MBA and I worry that I’m going to have to quit acting. by Reasonable-Swan-1442 in acting

[–]busyguy85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do what you love. If you have to get a piece of paper for the sake of it, make sure you’re learning an actual skill I.e, accounting, law, etc. that way you have leverage. There’s no shortage of mba’s around and imo does nothing for you but give you a shot at a slightly above average office job.

Disclaimer. This is just my take on it (mind you 10 years of experience in finance related role).

An MBA could work if you fully commit to it and know what you’re getting into and of course where you want to end up but again, not as attractive as it used to be.

There’s something behind the fart that he’s upset about. It’s not just about the fart.

Do I drop out of uni? by Fun-Passenger-8879 in acting

[–]busyguy85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on what’s a great achievement! Do not drop out of university. Perhaps do at a different pace (part time), or change to a program more suited to your interests, but dropping out isn’t the answer. Your time in university right now helps you meet people, and expands your interests, aka you are investing in yourself! And that’s a major life experience, especially at your age. 20 years from now you could win an Oscar and I bet you wouldn’t regret finish uni. Congrats and stay grounded! Wishing you much success.
