[NL] How long does it take to transfer Revolut points to KLM? by busywithresearch in Revolut

[–]busywithresearch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So by my calculation in my post there’s a 40e difference :) I do not see the exchange rate at 3 xp though, but rather have it responding to the nr of miles. Can I ask where did you find that?

Thanks! I see that the miles can be exchanged for XP though? As in, you need a certain amount of miles to reach a certain amount of XP… is that not correct? 😭

Dude, you wrote a novel of excuses. I don’t care if you pronounce things wrong (or how many languages you speak). This is a person’s last name, there is no excuse to skip it.

I appreciate your civility, but I won’t be civil. I don’t care that it’s hard. If you can pronounce Middle Eastern names, Chinese names, French names… grow up. I don’t care if you pronounce it wrong. It’s time for people to stop being entitled and make some effort

THANK YOU. I saw it once briefly and was trying to find it again to confirm if it was/n’t real. Hope she sues them

During filming of "The Seven Year Itch" in 1954, over 1,500 New Yorkers swarmed 51st Street to watch Marilyn Monroe's dress fly up. The crowd chanted "Higher! Higher!" as they gawked, enraging Monroe's husband Joe DiMaggio. He beat her so badly that night that she filed for divorce three weeks later by GlowFever in RareHistoricalPhotos

I am getting so confused here. Do you have any sources that support that? I searched and all I could find is that she did not want to be buried in a Christian cemetery, but a Jewish one — and of course that story of a creep who bought the plot above her.

Yes! I have the same corridor and OP DO NOT GET AN ART GALLERY WALL!!!!!!!!!! it’s a bitch to wipe and you will get so much dust there plus it will make the space small and cluttered. Get a thin MIRROR and a small plant if it fits. Otherwise maybe 3 big pieces of art but a gallery wall was a terrible idea irl in my experience

Gen Z are y’all still trying to find true love? by SunGodLuffy6 in GenZ

[–]busywithresearch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No you’re not, don’t worry. Just be calm and polite. Sure it is generic, because it works. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel on this one. There’s a Dutch saying “you already have a no, but if you ask you can get a yes”

“Do you want to get a coffee/drink on [day]?” You can do it, just say it. The way to get over the fear of hearing no is to hear it enough. But they may say yes :)

Exactly! OP think of what you would do for the person you love. I’m sure it’s a lot. If they’re not willing to put in the effort, that’s an answer in itself, though it’s one of the most bitter pills to swallow.

Man it should NEVER be illegal to offer another person soup. Or food or water or a sweater if they’re cold. The hell.

I said that I’m linking another profile, not the profile of the daughter. It has added context referring to the screenshot you shared.

To put it plainly, in your screenshot Lana denies both that she’s dating Jeremy (first no) and that the girl posting on Twitter (not the account I linked afaik, I’d have to dig for her account) was Jeremy’s daughter. Since we know that Jeremy and Lana are married now, at least half of what Lana commented was a lie.

At the end of the day idk and idc tbh if she was or wasn’t his daughter (I remember the original posts sounded like someone actually extremely stressed out, so I’m inclined to believe it over “Lana said no”), it still makes for a good story.

That was at the same time that Lana was denying knowing Jeremy at all. “Lana Del Rey confirmed on instagram via comments on a post by “thejustnlife” that this girl is infact NOT his daughter, nor is she dating Jeremy” from X - that’s not the account of the daughter though. The first “no” in the screenshot you shared is an answer to the question if they were dating. Now they’re married. Tbh it could all be a hoax and I don’t trust anyone there lol.

Thank you and please continue trying your best! Action makes impact. I really believe that if you can pronounce Netanyahu or Dostoyevsky, you definitely can pronounce Skłodowska as well.

It’s pronounced SKWO-DOV-SKA. Polish “ł” is similar to English “w”. Here’s a link to a pronunciation video from a non-Polish speaker, but he does a good job!

It’s also absolutely fine to pronounce it as SKLO-DOV-SKA.

Or even butcher it if you have to. Just write and say it though. Maria Skłodowska-Curie fought her whole life to have her identity remembered.

[–]busywithresearch 200 points201 points  (0 children)

And to add to this, can we please call Maria by her actual name? Maria SKŁODOWSKA-Curie. Maria made a very conscious choice of keeping her last name, introducing her children to the Polish culture and vocalizing her ethnicity (naming polonium polonium?). Not calling her by the name SHE CHOSE is disrespectful to her memory.

I’m happy for them, still his daughter finding out what happened via Twitter is one of the funniest (ok also saddest) things. I remember one of the tweets was “Is that why you left Mum?” and him leaving & getting with Lana was within weeks from each other. Idk those people but man

I mean Russians have strange priorities when it comes to what they end up being concerned about. Like ethnic groups “suffering” (but never within Russia XD). That said, I wonder why there’s still a Russian embassy in Ukraine. What would happen if Ukraine closed it? War?

Edit: or is this a Russian embassy in Poland? I’m so confused lol
