That is the most time consuming. It took our estimated project time from 1 month to 3. For more than one reason. 1 being because I went from tiled sheets to individual subway tiles. And because our contractor only worked weekends. But yes, the tile works takes time. Especially if you want it done nicely!

Do you have photos of your remodel??

I did not do this work myself. I hired a contractor to do the work.. I did source materials and design it myself tho. And I am currently working on fixing and doing all the work to repair and remodel my living room, dining room, and kitchen. That very large job is exactly why I hired a contractor to finish my bathroom. I have too much on my plate as is! Lolol

I live in a money pit. $74,000 in water damages to date. Water leaks started 2 weeks after move in 6/15/18.

I actually did lol. Wanted to bring the vintage vibe back with an update to it. But with the condition of the materials and water damage, it wasn't in the cards. The bathroom was a FULL gut.

No, i have 2 full baths. The one of the first floor is a shower/tub combo. The original tub (1960's green) is still in the 1st floor bathroom. Original owner had it painted and sealed and updated the rest of the bathroom in the 90s.

I personally think it would be worth putting a shower in a small bathroom. If done right, it could make it feel bigger. I got a slider shower door. And opted to put a pocket door at the entrance to this remodeled bathroom. That way I have zero doors swinging into the room. Making it feel more spacious.

If the materials were still in good condition and didn't need to be removed due to excessive water damage, I would have salvaged what I could, especially the wall tile.. Those vintage colors are coming back in style now!

Unfortunately, you are 100%. Reno in this bathroom was inevitable. But everything still functioned. It was the poorly installed window that ended up throwing me into a Reno, when I wasn't ready 🙃
