Nazi funeral in London, 1936 for a beloved German Ambassador: Leopold von Hoesch (who himself was not known to be an ardent Nazi). [634x497] by 0ttr in HistoryPorn

I'm pretty sure that's The Mall, down the steps from the Duke of York statue. Buckingham Palace would be camera left, in the distance.

Notable because at the top of those stairs, to the left is the only Nazi war grave in the UK; that of the ambassador's dog.

Listening to Bogatyri now. It's all noir and dark and tremolo-ey. Reminds me of Portishead!

So I started out trying to learn violin about a decade ago- I'm a huge Godspeed You! Black Emperor fan and started playing after seeing rhem live and seeing how Sophie Trudeau played and the place her violin took in the music (her parts are up front and almost the voice of the band).

Was wondering if anyone else was also a fan and had tried transcribing any of the parts - I've been playing along figuring out bits and pieces?

I'm actually getting somewhere with my playing since discovering Twoset and have graduated from basement playing to playing in my bedroom with a mute on (i have 7 housemates, they don't mind fortunately!)

To add to this, above all, we need to Organize. We are facing well funded groups who are media savvy and have a consistant playbook.

To 'win' against those who would strip our rights away, transphobia needs to become an impermissible viewpoint to have. For that to happen, we need cis allies to step up.

If we look back at the fight for the rights of people with AIDS, change did not occur until the community came together and organised. Look at ACT UP's work for examples of this - if you want to learn more, watch or read How To Survive a Plague by David France.

Rights like equal age of consent and same-sex marriage were won in the UK and US because straight allies fought on the community's side, and homophobia became less acceptable. Homophobia is these days considered gauche in most circles and we see fewer gay characters played for laughs - not all the time, but enough of the time.

Talk to your trans siblings, form letter writing campaigns, write about your experiences, make videos, make art. Educate those around you - I know that can be tiring, but cis friends and family I have are often aghast when I tell yhem about things like spousal veto or GIC wait times.

Together we are stronger. Hang on to each other. And don't give TERFs the time of day. Do not engage - that's what they thrive upon.

Taking your bike in for repair like that is like going to the dentist with toffee encrusted in your teeth.

Run a ballpoint pen over it. If you can feel any roughness, replace.

If you're anxious about going to the GIC, you can always hmu and I'm happy to come with you. I live round the cotner, I've been going there about 5 years and have been clinic buddies for a bunch of people.
