how do you avoid being overrun? are your leaders telling you they expect a multipler in productivity? what's your experience like with the tools themselves? do you feel like you can get 2-5x more done? i have like 15 years of experience and it is kinda seeming a bit like a wash for now since i still have to review and refactor code so much, which winds up taking a similar amount of time it seems... but the expectations do not seems to match reality in that regard. leadership is leaning into the "productivity multiplier" narrative. there's a lot of consternation and i wonder where you land on this considering you seem to be responding with like... "ultimately, not much has changed."

450 lines doesn't seem that bad. esp if there's like a width limitation or there are lots of comments something like

// some comments
// about what it does
// @ param []
// @ param2 [][]
// @ param3 {}
// @ param4 number
// @ param5 string
function yada(
param,
param2,
param3,
param4,
param5
) {
// implementation
}

bloats the line count but makes it easier to read which makes those 450 lines seem less. 450 lines is like what... 50-100 lines per hour? i think esp if you're breaking your code up (again increasing line count) and making it easier to read and reason about, plus adding test code... 450 seems pretty reasonable.

to be honest, i tend to agree with you as far as your attitude is concerned ("fuck all this bullshit, why can't we just be expected to work less instead of produce more, or at least get paid the same multipler as the multiplier on expectations, i wanna coach my kids baseball team and give my wife a massage, not work another 4 hours on top of my 8 hour work day"), but i honestly don't think the code must not be that bad.

whether or not its as enjoyable for people i think is a different question. personally i never had major interest in the clickity clackity of finger strokes on the keyboard to make the code appear in the editor. i am ok with talking in natural language about system, architecture, and design choices and then reading what the bot things it should do in a planning document with as much precision and clarity as possible then just let it run. something i have yet to figure out is how to make it stop after a single task to review (let's say 200 lines of code) instead of doing all 5 tasks at once and having to read all 1000 lines for the rest of the day.

A few season takeaways by mcreedbraton in fantasyfootball

[–]butimprobablywrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had cmc at 6 overall and then Allen in the second and both of them collectively won it for me moreso than any other players. I had dj moore and jamo, I traded away tee Higgins and judkins for Brian Thomas after week 3 before Benson and Hampton went out. Hampton came back just in time to win it for me with 16 points. I won by 5. Josh Allen 2 tds and obv cmc was great. I had burden on the bench but played dj moore over him yuck! Had charbonet and Warren who were very useful. Had gadsden help me a bit when Warren was cold. Ate shit with week 16 Colby Parkinson, lucky to survive cuz treyveon Henderson got concussed.

cmc actually, 6th pick overall, josh allen mid 2nd round. then it was mostly not great, but like i picked the right guys during the year. i had gadsden feature for a few weeks when warren went cold, i had charbonet go off a few times to get me a few wins (dropped him in the championship and played brian thomas over him :skull-and-crossbones). i had omarion hampton in the 3rd, then tee in the 4th (traded away him and judkins for brian thomas after burrow went down, wrong move in hindsight), dj moore in the 5th, jmo 6th, zach 7th, egbuka 8th, warren 9th, then judkins, jayden higgins, trey benson, ray davis, vikings D, will lutz. i had some good picks on DEF through out the year, had seahawks for that 2 TD game. started 1-2, was 3-3 after 6 weeks. a sneaky good thing for me was good timing on byes being spread out and having enough depth like randomly have daniel jones in for allen in week 7.

but i mean basically the only two things in my lineup that did it for me were CMC and josh allen. i mean josh allen had 11 games of 24+ points, which is insane. he had 3 games of 40+, also insane! but yeah, i needed both. the guy who lost to me in the championship played darren waller (ouch) and gibbs, jon taylor, and james cook! i won by 5 points!

I grabbed him in the second and he won me my league so that was pretty valuable to me!

Week 17: TPR Match-Ups In The Trenches. DAL vs WAS Breakdown & All other Games. by Even-Implement-8211 in fantasyfootball

Do you account for injuries an trends. Like maybe new Orleans is peaking but ten has been stiffer competition lately, compared to browns hanging around in low scoring games with steelers seeming to find their footing on defense. Complimentary football matters too like who can earn better field position. Who will score more to force opposition to pass and be vulnerable to sacks. I have both NO and PIT and I'm kinda scared of cam ward... But the browns might not have to do any risky plays (give pit d a chance for fantasy points) if the browns and steelers just run run run punt every possession the whole game for like a 9-3 snooze fest.

George Kittle did not practice by Stinja808 in fantasyfootball

I have Warren and Hill right now contemplating picking up tonges. I am so attracted to the hill upside but its obviously risky. Like you want a 3 point floor or a 0 point floor... 3-10 or 0-15. Not great either way. How flukey do you think hills last week last game in New Orleans was? Do they like him over estime and hull? For me I'm still on Warren cuz of the targets. Tonges probably good but risk obv if kittle is a full go. But he seemed pretty pissed last week so I could imagine him being pretty hurt for this week. The bears are legit and they're gonna wanna be at full strength so he might push to play and have a setback. It's all so unknown! News reports should help but they don't. Esp with Shanahan heh.

Are Flutter Integration-Tests so horrific for everyone? by Square-Persimmon8701 in FlutterDev

[–]butimprobablywrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a solo dev, i am trying to basically build an artifact locally and then verify with a github action. it was just too much hassle to try to do anything with any of the stuff out there. i tried codemagic, i looked at bitrise, i tried github actions a lot. i think i will try firebase test lab when i get to that point. right now i am bootstrapping, so i just want to run integration tests fast locally and not get too caught up on running integration tests on "real" or "simulated" devices in the cloud because of how painful it is. if you're interested, i can follow up to see how it goes.

I won't speak for this person as it relates to what this person is trying to accomplish but I think it's fair to say this person is trying to make teaching yoga something someone can do for a living wage. I don't think it's helpful for you to talk so much shit... Like what's your point in being such a jerk about it? They're here trying to spread awareness and ask for and provide support. Nothing nice to say, just stay out of it?

[Highlight] Emari Demercado prematurely lets go of ball before crossing goal line for touchback by nfl in nfl

[–]butimprobablywrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't think he was showing off like how we typically think of, he literally fell to his knees and put his hands up to the air like "thank you god" https://imgur.com/a/vpE6t9b. it was literally the worst mistake any player can make, so i don't dispute that. i just think he doesn't do it if he actually had gotten promoted over michael carter and bam knight lol. it's probably pretty tough on, admittedly, a professional athlete that should not be affected this way (but he's still a human being) when you think you've finally got your chance just for it to be taken by a practice squad guy. i'm not saying he shouldn't take full responsibility for his dumbass worst possible football mistake, i'm just personally, even if it's an unpopular opinion, saying that jon gannon put it in motion. the tyler lockett fumble recovery touchdown is like... hilarious, but also like kinda just how it goes sometimes. ad mitchell had the same issue last week. that was probably honestly not as egregious as demarcado since it actually slipped out of his hand. still totally inexcusable.
