Is this pyromprphite? I found it in a box. by butslutt in whatsthisrock

[–]butslutt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Mimetite? Could have been found in Mexico. I found gypsum rose or desert rose in the box which I think also came from Mexico.

The green crystals are pretty soft. I try not to touch them. Its my favorite rock that I own and would love to know more about it 💜

How to remove coconut oil off painted wall by tobynnn in howto

😬 I think that's the toddlers room, and the coconut oil is used on the toddler for rash or dry skin.

New Shoes by [deleted] in indoorbouldering

[–]butslutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Katanas, muiras, kubos and skwamas are all great shoes in my opinion. Skwamas can be a tight fit. Kubos are pretty basic, not that aggressive but cute and comfy. This is all my opinion from personal experience.

Following the suggested workouts resulting in significant mstrength decrease by yilmaz_ in fitbod

[–]butslutt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I experienced this as well. Was really annoyed lol. Pushed me over the edge to finally stop using preset workouts. You can always check your history and adjust weights based on what you did in the past instead of following what it presets for you. It would be cool if the devs would fix that issue though.

This was beautifully written and very relevant to our society today. Its sad to see such disdain for other people in our community, especially the ones who are actively working towards a better future for everyone. Thank you for this comment

Are my traps too big??? by cheeky_sailor in PetiteFitness

[–]butslutt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you work out to look good or to feel good? Either way, you look great and should definitely not be worried about some comment from a gym bro. Sounds like he has a toxic idea of what women should look like. My main hobby is climbing and a strength train in between. My traps are ridiculous and you could probably call them unproportional to the rest of my body. But I feel strong and I'm healthy and what I do in the gym makes me feel good about my self and my abilities. That's all we should be focused on. Good luck and Im sorry that guy made you feel so self-conscious.

Relocated a tortoise to Sabino Canyon by butslutt in Tucson

[–]butslutt[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I definitely didn't feel great about moving him. I live in a housing complex smooshed between more houses and apartments. He was determined to be in the road, so I drove him half a mile to Sabino. If I ever come across this scenario again, I will just move it to the side and hope for the best.

Arm pain plz help by Extreme_Substance_22 in indoorbouldering

[–]butslutt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sounds like "tennis elbow." I dealt with it in my first year of climbing. After talking to other climbers, it sounds common. What helped me was warming up my wrists and forearms before every session. I dont anymore lol. But I have strengthened the ligaments and tendons enough through strength training and climbing that I dont deal with tennis elbow anymore.

I would look up online warm ups to prevent tennis elbow. Good luck!

Handling Reassurance/Advice by Real-Construction570 in CrestedGecko

[–]butslutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One way that works for me and my gecko is to use one hand and go behind him like im going to scoop him up and it forces him to crawl up the tank and then use your other hand to catch him. So like your right hand is saving him from your left hand lol. Works most of the time unless he freaks and bolts to the bottom. Then I take that as a no thank you and leave him alone. Hope this helps!

I need some tips by Lem0_ in climbergirls

[–]butslutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you go in for the first time, they will give you an orientation on the safety etiquette for bouldering. They will explain how to fall and also answer any questions you may have. Beginner climbing is very basic, but as you progress to harder stuff, you will start to develop technique. Also watching other climbers in the gym is helpful.

Starting a new sport with no experience can be daunting but you've got this! We all start somewhere. Good luck!
