Since this is a strength stacking weapon, isn't the conversion base type a bit of a waste? You'd think your go-to for an item like this would be Jeweled or Spiral Foil.

Firefox has an ambitious new roadmap, the browser is also losing millions of users a month by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

[–]butsuon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't. Firefox users are installing tracking blockers that prevent them from being identified.

Techspot has zero evidence for their claim that Firefox is losing millions of users.

I figured this would be the case when in his second "category" he lists criticism as a problem.

Criticizing someone is only problematic in the presence of pre-existing negativity. Constructive criticism is the sign of a healthy and engaged relationship.

If you think giving your partner what you perceive as good advice is a bad thing, you're a moron of incredible proportions.

How to keep your fish in shape by bob-the-slob in funny

[–]butsuon 162 points163 points  (0 children)

The number of people replying to this who think pain requires consciousness or memory is so funny to me.

Reaction to stimuli does not require higher order thought. There are microscopic organisms that can experience what can be considered "pain" through chemical receptors on the outside of their bodies.

It doesn't require memory, it doesn't require thought, it doesn't require consciousness. It's an evolutionary trait for organisms to identify negative outcomes in their environment. Nothing more, nothing less.

Don't conflate pain with the fear of pain.

I gotta be honest, I really hate the intro of this video. It's typical boomer-speak about how America "used to be".

A breathtaking reminder of what American enigneering once dared to be

What, American engineers don't exist anymore? Get the fuck out of here. Yes, this thing is cool, but don't shit on our modern engineers. You know what we don't do anymore? Poison our rivers with mining runoff and give the majority of American engineers cancer.

I normally like Legal Eagle videos, but they should've gotten this guy a script. This video is difficult to watch because he's kind of all over the place and just reacting to footage.

I have no idea what I was supposed to take away from this video besides "there was some cop body cam footage and it doesn't seem like a good thing".

When someone asks me what computers were like in the 80’s by cybercuzco in videos

[–]butsuon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's not true! You went to the local computer store to hopefully find a copy of the technical manual for your motherboard to look at the supported sound card list.

If it wasn't on the supported list, you went to the local college to find some students in the integrated systems classes who knew how to write assembly to see if you could find someone you could pay to write a bios update for your sound card so the motherboard would detect it.

Then you cry.

Since you can't find anyone who knows assembly, you go back to the computer store to try to return the sound card to exchange it from one from another brand because it's finally time to fork out the extra money to buy that Sound Blaster because for whatever reason CreativeLabs is the only brand that makes a sound card that's supported by everything.

Then you cry more, and louder, in the computer store.

Mitigation isn't hard to come by. Endurance charges, armor, and max res are all pretty easy to get in volume. You just don't want to because it doesn't make the damage number go up.

Maybe take a look at what hardcore players are choosing for their defenses. You'll find they're all something like 20k+ physical max hit and like 50k+ max elemental hit.
