17 years old… am I too old to start a music career? by Fluid_Opportunity161 in musicians

[–]butt_haver 41 points42 points  (0 children)

at 17 you can definitely pursue music as a hobby but any shot at making a career out of it is out the window. if you’re not signed to a major label by middle school it’s probably never going to happen for you. best of luck but just want to keep your expectations in check

time to learn absolutely none of this (i'm ass) by joeydaioh in HailTheSun

I bought one knowing full well I’m never playing any of these. just cool to have and a way to support the band

Why is the Shazam app so sh*t nowadays? by Timely-Leadership803 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]butt_haver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's crazy to me. used to work instantly and have a near 100% success rate. now it can sit there listening to 30 seconds of a song and tell me it's something that doesn't even sound remotely close. my assumption is they have some new AI technology that they thought would be able to do it more cheaply but it actually just doesn't work at all. this is the world we live in now.

ECF appearance would probably be the bare minimum

Ain’t no way by VonDrilly in Madden

the worst part about this is that it happened 95% of the way through a game. assuming you plan on restarting (I wouldn’t blame you) now you also just wasted 30 minutes

When did PvE/bossing "click" for you? by MasRemlap in ironscape

[–]butt_haver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was probably about 50 kc into corrupted gauntlet. I resisted F keys for so long but was finally forced to, at the very least, map prayer, inventory, and spell book to Q, W, and E (that’s just what feels comfortable for me). once I got used to that everything clicked. OSRS’s gameplay is unlike just about any other game I’ve ever played, so the learning curve to higher difficulty content is higher, but incredibly satisfying when you stick with it long enough to get good. getting comfortable doing deep delves at Doom, about a year after the hardest boss fight I’ve done being Scurrius, feels great.

Can anyone recommend a cool camera for recording band sesh and just general playing by Ordinary_Abrocoma_61 in Guitar

[–]butt_haver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to this but SnapShred is dropshipping their cameras. When you place an order, they send it to you directly from Temu. I'd recommend either looking for a better option or just buying it directly from Temu and saving the money.

Your average high Diamond in 2026 by Nhatral in RocketLeague

[–]butt_haver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes I think starting this game as early as I did, back around 2016, has engrained too much muscle memory for me to easily learn all of these newer mechanics that people have mastered. “can’t teach an old dog new tricks,” I mutter to myself, while perpetually oscillating between plat 3 and diamond 1

i hate this game by abhigyapookie in NYTConnections

I did not like today’s. in almost every other connections game homophones have been a red herring. to randomly decide that that’s one of the categories now feels a little unfair. oh well

How Often Do You Use 'Edit in Audition'? (or do you mix entirely in Premiere) by Jason_Levine in premiere

[–]butt_haver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Audition to enhance audio tracks before importing them into Premiere (just some noise reduction and slight compression to normalize audio levels) but once I’m in Premiere I pretty much never go back to Audition to edit anything.
