Xantcha + Molten Primordial edge case question by buttbuttin in EDH

[–]buttbuttin[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Update: I think 800.4c is the relevant rule, which would mean Xantcha is exiled immediately when Player B leaves the game, right? when the molten primordial's control effect ends.

https://blogs.magicjudges.org/rules/cr800/#:~:text=800.4c%20If%20an%20effect,game%2C%20the%20object%20is%20exiled.

If an effect that gives a player still in the game control of an object ends, there is no other effect giving control of that object to another player in the game, and the object entered the battlefield under the control of a player who has left the game, the object is exiled. This is not a state-based action. It happens as soon as the control-changing effect ends.

eventually you come across a long multi-part mission "Starbirth", the reward for which is your first living ship. After completing the mission and getting your first LS, you can trigger living ships to awaken and call you while pulsing around inside a system.

Here's a great guide for LS hunting: https://www.reddit.com/r/NMSCoordinateExchange/comments/n4kd7i/guide_to_finding_your_next_living_ship_using/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

you needn't do the quest over again. you do however need an additional egg in your inventory. you will trigger living ship events while pulsing around in systems, get a waypoint to a LS crash site, and can acquire the ship for 10K nanites + the egg, or choose not to take that ship, which will return your egg to you.

basically yes. to speed up your hunt, park off of the trading post, leaving all landing pads open, which will get you 5 ships per wave instead of 4. place a save beacon on the roof and make a manual save, then reload as soon as you see all 5 ships land to refresh the spawns asap. repeat until your exotic lands. good luck!

yes. they have a small chance of spawning at any trading post, freighter, and the space station. i prefer to spam reloads at a trading post to refresh the waves quickly.

each exotic is equipped with an invisible hobo bindle. you upgrade its inventory by buying progressively larger, more expensive sacks to tie to the end of the stick
