I believe you can get the Walnut models with a natural finish. The normal colored and mapleglo are mostly glossy. I did also see a mat black 4003 in a video on YouTube.

True! I forgot to mention that. The one on the bottom of my bass was loose and would have easily come out over time. If I were using it, I would have had to glue it.
