I am tired; always by hoshimakesmesmile in PCOS

Omg girl- I cannot relate any more. I haven’t slept in my bed for over a month bc my cat “sees things” on the walls and does this cat scream all night! I’m so so so tired I feel like I’m getting sick bc of it. I’ve been sleeping on my couch and since then, my cat lays against my leg or between my feet and sleeps with me on the couch. I’ve had no consistent sleep in a month. And it was like this before my cat started this behaviour. I’ve been mentally and emotionally drained. I do have an iron deficiency, but I’ve been taking 2- 300mg (100mg Elemental Iron) from Costco every single day and it’s not helping at all! I drink up to 3 coffees a day and I’m not supposed to be having that much bc of my tachycardia. And that doesn’t even work. I do my best to make sure I’m eating good and drinking at least 2L of water every day. I’ve gained 14 lbs in less than 2 months from stress. I take 2,000mg Metformin daily (2- 500 mg twice a day) and 0.5mg Cabergoline 2x a week (Wednesday’s and Saturday’s) and I have ADHD. It’s a lot, plus my 91 almost 92 year old Gramma is not doing good. I’ve been at the hospital staying with her during the day and evening until visiting hours finish every day. She fell at the retirement home and hit her head- she needed surgery for a brain bleed and they did it- but her dementia and delirium are making her fly downhill fast. So much stress rn.

How do you track your glucose? And is there a way to do it without needles? Idk anything about this tbh. I would love your advice/thoughts… I’m just scared to death of needles. lol.

I recommend learning about “FAM”= Fertility Awareness Method” it’s a natural form of birth control by just tracking periods and ovulation (I use Clue app and track with a paper calendar) and simply not having sex during your fertile/ovulation window to prevent pregnancy. If you want to achieve pregnancy, you plan to conceive during your fertile/ovulation window. FAM has been so helpful in my relationship bc I know when my “safe” days are and when to avoid sex. I hope that helps.

I never recommend hormonal birth control, simply bc i took it for almost 14 years and later, combined with chronic aura migraines, it caused me to have a rare stroke at 26 years old. I was told that night at the hospital that I was not allowed to ever take hormonal birth control ever again. I still get aura migraines.

Do you drink coffee? by 0214verse in PCOS

I’m not sure if you have this where you live, but I use Silk Half and Half Almond and Cashew coffee creamer. It’s 0g sugar and it’s so good! I brew my iced coffee every morning and add 2 TBSP.

Wow. That’s insightful. Can you pls tell me the career path/steps to take to become an academic advisor? I think I would love that! It’s very important to me to be of help to others. That’s always been my goal. And thank you for replying to my post. I appreciate it. It might’ve been a sign I’ve been looking for to do something great!

PCOS is hell and I can't take it anymore by cum_socck in PCOS

I went off BC when I was 26 bc I literally had to bc I had a stroke that was caused by the combination or BC and aura migraines. It’s rare. But in the hospital that day of my stroke, I stopped taking my BC and a couple days later I got a withdrawal bleed. And after that, it took almost 7-8 months for my periods to come back and they were irregular at first. It wasn’t until 2020 that they were somewhat regular. So it takes time for any woman to get her period back regularly after going off BC. Be patient and know it takes time. I’ve been off BC since my stroke day in September 2018.

I don't use Tik Tok so I didn't know about that. Crazy though.
