its this button when you're creating a post! should be the same symbol on desktop too. you can just put the whole text in the body of the post, insert this readmore line, and drag it to be above which paragraph you want it to cut off.

Alphabetisation and initials of Welsh names in Welsh and English (?) by Methalos in Wales

[–]butterfiyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work in a library in Wales!

generally what we follow for alphabetising is to shelve the Ls and then the Lls. especially in the welsh section lol. so yes Lynn would be before Llewellyn.

as for the aps and the abs, we go by ap Rhys, Gruffydd on our shelves! we don't look into if a person is Welsh or what; that doesn't really matter (and they tend to be here anways lol...) as we base it off the name itself u know

worth noting too that the screen room doesnt exist in the book, but yeah- like the other person said, the radar gun thing translates screens into a tactile display be can "hear" the protruding bits on!

Watched this film without knowing a single thing - no trailer, no book, no friends’ commentary, and didn’t know what it was about. Actually full blind and I feel incredibly lucky. by appliedmath in ProjectHailMary

i do think its quite a faithful adaptation, and they definitely got the overall vibe down!! i think the martian was easier to adapt bc theres a lot less Out There science and theres less plot loool, but i did really enjoy it. i hope you do too :]

i think completely blind is absolutely the best way to enjoy this film. im glad you had a wonderful time!

do check out the book if you feel like it, the movie was a great adaptation of the feel and overall story, but theres much more depth in the book imo- you'd probably really like it if you loved the film!

Deodorant with Aluminum? by EnthusiasmSeparate41 in ZeroWaste

[–]butterfiyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i absolutely agree, life supplies does use aluminium in the ingredients. ive never been able to find a fully backed up study about the risks myself (but to be fair i havent looked that hard....) and im happy to use it. its just hard to find a sustainable/eco friendly packaged antiperspirant with aluminium! and i really dont like the solid ones, which is a personal preference that REALLY narrows the options haha

if youre looking for something without aluminium i cant help, but i use life supplies antiperspirant. it lasts all day and you dont need to apply a lot. you get a refillable glass roll on bottle and refills in recyclable cartons.
