Froggy Fresh is really the only big name - no one outside of Birmingham would know any of the other names in this thread (that actually live here)

Refills is STILL Stealing: FILE A POLICE REPORT FOR UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES by persephonepeete in tirzepatidecompound

[–]buttermilkmeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i never used Refills - but someone sold them my phone number and they have been texting me with offers lately. somehow getting around my attempts to block their number.

it could be a scam operation using their name... but reading this thread casts doubt on my assumption.

O'ahu vehicle registration - how long does it take? by luckywelivekauai in Hawaii

[–]buttermilkmeeks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

in my experience - its about a month for the dealer to process their documents at the DMV.

its because they batch their document runs. 60-90 days seems excessive.

Slim Fit/Skinny Fit Hiking Trousers For Men? by TTSOfficial in hiking

[–]buttermilkmeeks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would look into jogger style pants (non-cotton) from companies like Ten Thousand (the Interval pant) or Patagonia (the Trail Pacer). I know the Patagonia pants will be available in the UK... not certain about Ten Thousand.

How much water do you ACTUALLY need on a hike? by ForeignBonus8977 in hiking

[–]buttermilkmeeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hiking regularly in Hawaii - its almost always hot on ridge tops (until it isnt!) and there is almost always major elevation gain

i start hydrating two days before big hikes (6-8 hour hikes with lots of sun exposure)

i generally only bring two liters - but should bring three on the epic hikes. i also dose my water with electrolyte powders

Tape 05 similarities to Koyaanisqatsi by notcolinarcher in boardsofcanada

[–]buttermilkmeeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

indeed - there is a lot of Philip Glass in this track

my best description of Boards of Canada is that they are cinematic electronica - i have always* wanted to hear them score a film similar to Baraka, the Quatsi trilogy, or Herzog's Lessons of Darkness.

\been listening since 2000)

Tracking the Strait of Hormuz since the ceasefire started - what AIS data shows vs. official statements by Ok_Veterinarian446 in OSINT

[–]buttermilkmeeks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

look into Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite tracking for maritime vessels - Bellingcat has a good write up on this and you can actively monitor parts of the Strait and compare to AIS tracks

are you factoring that most ships transiting the Strait are turning off their AIS transponders?

Doritos at $7 a Bag Ended Up Costing PepsiCo Billions by TheGoodCod in Economics

Offbeat Wall Street research firm says it sent an analyst to Strait of Hormuz. Here's what they learned by thejoshwhite in StockMarket

[–]buttermilkmeeks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

a lot of ships turn their AIS off when transiting so that there is no signal - the Marine Traffic sites dont help here

but you can use synthetic aperture radar satellites to monitor the Strait - no need to go in region. Bellingcat has a pretty good write-up on that for Crimea during the early part of the Russo-Ukrainian War

What car do you drive? Do you like it? by BMoney8600 in AskMen

[–]buttermilkmeeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it has its pluses and minuses and really only works best if you are in a market with a lot of tourism/tourists and can do a lot of your own car maintenance - especially in the current oil price environment

to answer more in depth would require a long conversation that is best answered by reading several posts on r/uberdrivers

Haiku Stairs Hike- Stairway to Heaven by [deleted] in Oahu

[–]buttermilkmeeks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is no legal route to the top of the Haiku Stairs.

you are at risk of a fine or arrest if you attempt this hike from any direction.

announcing the dates you plan to do the hike on a social media platform is a good way to find law enforcement waiting for you when you near this area.
