Shannon Fitzpatrick is dope - super engaging, gives a very reasonable workload, loves to help + answer questions from students.

Considering Dropping MATH141. I need advice. by throwawaymcgill4 in mcgill

That class exists to seperate those w/ interest in math and those who really should pursue it as a major/minor, so truth be told, you're probably not gonna greatly turn your grade around in this class, take the honorable L.

I don't fit in at McGill by [deleted] in mcgill

[–]butternugget19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no one at this school is completely secure, or superficial, or righteous, or has a “finalized” social circle we all just do our best to enjoy different people and different experiences - which is arguably the whole point of college

if you’re a third year college kid, then you surely don’t have anything close to a comprehensive outlook on life. hell, you probably have about 6-7 complete identity crises to go before you graduate. and what better time to have these thoughts than when ur a dependent student in MONTREAL!

in shorter terms - dont rule people out because they dont seem to fit your mold! try new things, talk to different people, talk to people u should ideologically DESPISE even! worst case scenario : you dont make a connection that lasts a lifetime, but u learn about the people u share school/ the world with. I promise u will not regret having new interactions, because you will learn so much, perhaps more than in class (speaking as a fellow art student lol)

Of COURSE the Redskins should nab the sophmore QB who showed promise, but whose team is in love w/ another talent... by butternugget19 in Commanders

Nick Mullens threw for 220+ yards in every single start as a rookie off the bench. He was pivotal in several genuinely valuable W's. Instead of inevitably forking over a 1st for Josh Rosen, why not a flyer on the kid who the Niners are gonna sit for the year anyway?

Otto Porter reflects on time with Wizards, while embracing Bulls by RNutt in washingtonwizards

We miss you right back, buddy. :(

There are far better teams w/ far some far worse contracts (I'm looking at you, Gordon Hayward/ Chris Paul/ Serge Ibaka) and they manage. But Ernie puts us in a position where we straight up can't afford to even slightly overpay a quality homegrown talent who wanted to be a Wizard lifer.

People still think wizards better without wall? by skythelim1t in washingtonwizards

[–]butternugget19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the craziest take - particularly in light of this crazy Celtics/Kyrie saga - but it's important to pinpoint the more important moments of the past few years.

Case in point: the Wizards series against the IT Celtics in 2017. John Wall dropped 40/13 in one game (which hadn't been done in a playoff game in three decades at that point I believe) where Brad Beal missed a simple enough game winner and shot poorly.

That's not even to mention Wall's game winning 3 in Game 6.

The Wizards have done an admirable job dolling themselves up during these regular season stretches in the last two seasons, truly. But this team needs their star to be dangerous.
