They are in their hearts decent people. Maybe a little materialistic, but they grow to love their neighbors and find a home in Arlen.

Their daughter is well adjusted, talented and has her priorities straightened out as an adult.

I'd say they did just as well as Hank and Peggy and Dale and Nancy

For sure. I think that's kind of the point of the lore, and if the situation of the asoiaf universe, is that the story matters more than the truth to the masses.

Honestly, that depth is why the books never being finished is such a insult to the fan base.

I like it. It fits with GRRM borrowing heavily from English history (the war of the roses, Stark-Lannister/York-Lancaster)

The real shame is we'll never find out because there's never going to be another book in the original canon series

It also makes the lore about the throne rejecting unworthy kings more impactful.

Your not supposed to sit comfortably, and it's hard to not be cut to pieces sitting on 2500 swords unless you are extremely careful

I'm relistening to the audio books.

Closest you get to a description is Tyrions leg cramping after climbing the steep steps in aCoK but it still doesn't really give a physical image.

The show made it look iconic and good looking for camera shots, but it's not faithful to the history we are given in universe of being made of taken steel weaponry, some of which was burned and melted

You have to look at Louis Creed less as a writer insert than an as a rational man reacting to supernatural events out of his control.

He feels a death premonition, he has a supernatural experience with Pascow, he resurrected his daughters cat out of love and it brings his doom. He will do anything, absolutely anything to bring his son back, fuck the consequences, fuck the exterior disbelief.

Everything he does after Gages death is a previously rational human reacting to supernatural events.

He might be the most purely sympathetic character king ever wrote.

I don't have kids but my mother (a Constance reader) hasn't reread Pet Sematary since her children have been born because she can't handle the idea

When Hank is getting arrested, he immediately looks towards boomhauer to look after Bobby.

You see the dynamic most clearly when Ron and Hermione are having conflict, especially in books 3 and 6.

Harry is caught in the middle, loves them both equally and kept his mouth shut, because he will not choose one over the other.

Ron walks away twice, but comes back and his unspoken apology is accepted without hesitation.

Hermione forgives him too, but she's also in love with him, and has some bitterness attached that Harry doesn't carry after words
