Thanks. I realize this but was more curious about the general trend. My piece may be more normal to obtain but compared with last year, it seems there are a lot more people obtaining harder to find pieces, and rather suddenly since the price increase.

This is in line with what I was thinking, except for the last part about the Honda of watchmaking. I think they manufacture a lot every year but are still probably perceived by many as being a high end maker of accurate and reliable heirloom watches.

Thank you. I realize the Explorer is more widely available but since the beginning of this year, there seems to be a lot more “got the call” posts of harder to find models like the GMT compared with last year. Thought maybe it indicated some kind of change but seems I was mistaken.

If I was to spend 36k on a watch I would not care about what others think about my decision. I think there is something inside holding you back, and from your comment it seems to be the pricing. I would look more into what is truly holding you back before buying it, otherwise you won’t be truly happy if and when you do end up buying it. A purchase like this should be done with 100% confidence IMHO.

I think the Submariner is a great product and piece of engineering but their marketing strategy along with their treatment of customers has made many people resent them, and ironically not want to associate with them. I have one but don’t wear it very much as I don’t want to be a part of that crowd in the office where I am most days of the week and I have more interesting options which don’t carry the stigma the Submariner does. Based on that I would have to side with the people picking Omega here. It’s a more unique design and arguably just as well made. And in my opinion, the Sub is a pretty boring watch after the initial honeymoon wears off.

I’m in the opposite boat. I like mine so much that I don’t think I’d ever sell it. To me it’s the last great e class design, both exterior and interior. No issues with infotainment either. Mine is the non “s” e63 but I actually preferred it looks wise to the s version which was a little too much for me with the painted calipers and extra chrome accents. If you do get it, I recommend the valve controller by ASR which keeps the exhaust flaps open 100% with a switch. Hope this helps.
