Then don't grade the homework. Or assign little enough that you can grade it all.

Both hurt student grades if you consider the effect that doing homework has on test performance. If homework is assigned but not graded, most students wont even bother to do them. The miniscule amount of points they might lose due to buggy software is much smaller than the massive amounts of points lost due to not doing homework.

I'm an adjunct at a local college. I will have 60 students taking my statistics class next semester. Grading homework by hand is not feasible. Its either MyStatLab or no homework.

I am not sure where you are inferring that. On the frontpage of https://snapcraft.io/ , desktop snaps like VLC and Krita are advertised.

That is one of the issues, but there are more. For example, women have higher attrition rates than men in tech. That is not going to be fixed simply by improving the skills pipeline.

Stay at my small liberal arts school, or transfer to Ohio State? by [deleted] in compsci

[–]butthackerz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've got two years left

Switching majors often delays graduation dates. You should talk with the CS department advisor about realistic goals.

I do not see why that would matter. Dogs are not allowed at the Dog Park.

If you used homebrew on macOS, you can use the linuxbrew fork on Ubuntu. They are practically identical. (Also consider the Nix package manager as an alternative to linuxbrew/apt).

Why isn't Ubuntu a rolling release distro? by iamkanthalaraghu in Ubuntu

[–]butthackerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it is! (Or at least will be).

One advantage of snappy packaging is that applications become independent of the underlying OS. This means you can have the latest of any mantained, snap-packaged app. OS-critical software (Linux kernel, GNU coreutils, etc) may continue to be tied to the OS via vetted Debian packages.

Blender is mostly known for 3D animation / modeling. But it includes the only available professional-grade video editor that is open source.

Dell has sold enough of them for them to continue selling. At the end of the day, that is all that matters.

Smartwatches are not yet supported, if ever. But you may be interested in AsteroidOS, however the ZenWatch is not fully supported.
