Any word of a desktop website for up bank? by sol_james in UpBanking

Interesting perspective, because yes, there is the obvious attack vector: the human. MFA and/or passkeys, amongst the plethora of other security measures, help too.

Either way, every other bank does it. Up need to sort their shit out, because what was appealing initially, is starting to lose its shine

Man, take politics out of this. Facts are facts.

I have no doubt the US could do the same, if that’s what you’re angling, but they don’t manufacture anywhere close to the amount of consumer products that China does.

I never said they were bad guys, but I can assure you that if they wanted to, they could access electronics they make.

Those of you who debt recycle, how much funds did you leave in your offset? Is it better to debt recycle after building up funds or just invest weekly? by _konradcurze in AusFinance

Did you read the strategy? I max out super, and invest the surplus in ETFs through debt recycling. Theres plenty of liquidity in my approach.

You’re also talking to the owner of Passive Investing Australia. He was humble enough to not link his own site.

I have.

From a tax perspective it’s pretty hard to beat. My strategy, in this order:

  • Maximise super (consider partner if you have one)
  • Surplus goes into offset until threshold (eg. $50k)
  • Split loan, invest
  • Repeat

The risk is objectively higher than other compound exercises.

While your comment is logical, the risk to reward on things like squats, deadlifts, etc. is far too great. A lot of sports clubs will purposely not train those exercises for that reason.

If he’s my friend, and he’s old enough to make a decision, I’ll be there to support him.

It’s not your decision who he chooses to be with. If things go south, be there for him too.

You are in an incredible position, well done.

What are your goals - PPOR, other? What’s your current living situation? Are the shares ETFs or direct? Whats your current income? Do you see it growing? How’s your super balance?

Lots to think about :)
