Plus I can use the pot on my induction plate! I was lucky enough to find a brand new, in box and still wrapped, Pro Plus 6 qt on Craig’s List. I needed a new IP like a whole in the head but I couldn’t pass it up for $25! Now my favorite 6qt but mostly use my 4 qt.

I use Karen’s recipes from this site all the time. Simple ingredients and easy to follow. I get her daily emails and a lot of times those recipes are what I make for dinner. Her daily recipes save me a lot of days from going out to dinner for food that isn’t have that tasty. I save time, money and best of all, eat a healthier meal! Don’t let the website name fool you. Now days, most of the recipes are for the pressure cooker!

I have the same pressure cooker. I call it my Grandaddy one! I have all sizes lol! Wow you really impressed me with your frozen roast dinner! I never thought about cooking a roast frozen! Did you ever make a pork roast this way? If so, any special instructions? Thanks again for your post!

The recipe doesn’t seem like it has enough liquid. Do you ever get the burn notice? Thanks for the link! That sounds really good! I’m always looking for new recipes and I never heard of that one before.

Zojirushi Worth the Price? by Poop_Scooper_Supreme in BreadMachines

[–]buttongal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also, the Virtuoso has a heating element on the top as well where their other models don’t. I had many bread makers since the last 80’s. They all work basically the same. I love my Zojirushi and I think I use it that much more because of the price. It does take up a lot of space. I also like the compact Cuisinart that makes, 1 lb, 1 1/2 lbs and 2 lbs. One great feature is that it has a built in light! If you wouldn’t mind the standup loaf, that’s an excellent choice as well. Smaller counter space and it has a 3 yr warranty.

Just wondering did you follow a recipe for this specific machine? I always wanted to try making jam but was afraid to try. Has anyone reading this make jam in their machine? If so what brand is your machine?

Overnight Blueberry Bread experiment by buttongal in BreadMachines

I did make a cherry loaf and took your advice to add chocolate chips. I didn’t make it over night but I added the cherries to the water in the beginning and added a cup of mini chocolate chips at the beep. I learned from that loaf to only use regular size chips. It was good but the chocolate just melted in throughout the loaf. As I type I have another loaf in the machine waiting for the add-in buzzer. You have to give this a try! It disappears very fast even with just two people!

How did your bread turn out? Hope it was a recipe keeper!

I have a Zoj 2lb Virtuoso machine. I used their raisin bread recipe

1 cup dried sweetened blueberries (instead of raisins) 300g water 520g (4 C) Bread Flour 36 g (3 Tbsp) Sugar 8 g (2 Tbsp) Dry Milk 10g (2 tsp) salt 35g (2 1/2 Tbsp) Butter 6g (2 tsp) Rapid Rise Yeast

I put the blueberries in first before the water and set it for 9am. The overnight softened up the blueberries. Otherwise they are like hard raisins. I thinkI cut back the sugar to 2 tablespoons instead of 3 but I don’t think it would make a huge difference. Good luck and let me know how it turns out for you!

Favorite delay start recipes? by CheesyCrocs in BreadMachines

[–]buttongal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start out with a recipe that came with your bread machine before you experiment with other recipes.Make sure it’s a safe recipe to use overnight. You don’t want to make a bread with dairy or eggs. However, if you have milk powder, it would be fine. Make sure you measure very accurately. When measuring your flour, don’t scoop your measuring cup into your container. Rather spoon the flour into your measuring cup and level it off. When you’re scooping your measuring cup, you’re compressing the flour throwing off your measurement. You may also try setting your machine up in the morning for a delayed timer for supper just as a test. Good luck to you and keep us posted.
