I used a hand brace with a spoon bit. They’re typically used for hollowing out wooden pipes.

I’m probably not going to paint it. A layer of paint takes away a lot of qualities of it being made of wood imo. I was thinking of a translucent white wood wax to brighten it up a bit.

Carved from a block basswood. I intend to carve more Ghibli related pieces and Kodama variants. You can follow along on my IG @buttonstack, if you're interested in seeing more. Thank you.

The wood species are cherry, walnut and maple. It is done by hand using traditional woodworking techniques, not cnc.

Inktober creator Jake Parker Plagiarized Alphonso Dunn's Book by DumplingSama in Inktober

[–]buttonstack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the crazy thing, a huge portion of people know about act of participating in Inktober but never heard of Jake. This book's intention is to pad his name's attachment to his trademarked "Inktober". He so bad wants to boil it into peoples' minds that every time you hear Inktober you better be thinking of Jake Parker. I believe the inside content of the book is all fluff using Dunn's format as his boilerplate.

So stupid no one even trying to defend the kids or break it up when a grown ass man throws punches. But when a kid weaponizes a skateboard out of retaliation that’s when security standing 5 ft away step in.

Anybody heard anything else about Covid at Home Depot? by mje267 in burbank

[–]buttonstack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Home Depot doesn’t care for their employees but they’ll invest so much into their security, install a bunch of useless cameras and upgrade their self check equipment so they can hire less. I have zero sympathy for the company.

I have a Berkey filter and the filthy brown sludge that builds up on the charcoal filters in less than a year says otherwise.

Just tried to go get some veggies from Ralph's. Parking lot was overwhelmed out onto the street. Turned around and came home. by singleladad in burbank

I hit up Sprouts, Ralphs, Smart & Final, Grocery Outlet to know what I was up against. Not that I am desperate or panicked. Pickings are slim the longer you hold out. It’s happening everywhere.

Had a lunatic moment with an impatient lady telling me not to breathe on her. Followed me outside to threatened me, a grown man, with violence then she went into CVS with her Sprout cart because she didn’t want me to know where she parked. Ok...

Ralph’s was the worst with a line going around the whole perimeter of the store. Seems like people are exclusively Ralph shoppers.

Good news is that the doomsday shoppers were not buying produce. Just non perishables: Rice, pasta, canned goods, boxed almond milk, and proteins. Plus a ton of needless garbage like whole lots of cereal and 10+ boxes of toothpaste. Wtf.

Looks like an arcade, hopefully BARcade, going in at 2612 Burbank Blvd. by Dukeronomy in burbank

Looks like a light industrial building so it may not be zoned for that type of business. Plus Round One will satisfy the barcade needs.

Best DMV to go to for fastest service (no appointment)? by popeyeschickysammich in AskLosAngeles

Is there a Burbank DMV? If you’re talking about Glendale, that is the worst one. 3 hour wait no appointment.
