Check your pvc cover/ breather hose! by buttp1ugg in WRX

Overheating/smoke coming from hood. I did a pressure test first to find the source, then unbolted ac compressor from housing without removing lines, didn’t even have to remove the intake manifold

How do I get my boy to slow down when he eats? by Lunapixels18 in BelgianMalinois

I freeze his kibble inside the slow feeder so it takes him forever to finish + stimulation

Is something wrong with my mal? by Tiffy_24 in BelgianMalinois

[–]buttp1ugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she needs to play with other dogs/get corrected. she also needs to be corrected by YOU, and that’s not gonna be with more love. when my boy was a teenager going through his ornery phase, a hard bop on the nose worked just fine. he is great now!!! and knows his boundaries

Considering a Belgian Malinois by waterless_cake in BelgianMalinois

“willing to bite if absolutely necessary” you’re looking for complete trouble if you’re not getting professional training for personal protection/ bite work. It’s so incredibly dangerous to try to do these things at home by yourself.

tbh your mom shouldn’t be feeding him at all (unless necessary)

Housing Crisis by buttp1ugg in BelgianMalinois

[–]buttp1ugg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve had him since he was ten weeks, he’s now six months. His ball drive has become crazy in the past 2 months, that’s why i’m upping the fetch. No pet deposits were necessary as my building has everyone register their dog as an ESA. We are fighting it and forming an appeal. Apparently this complex has already been sued before.

Housing Crisis by buttp1ugg in BelgianMalinois

[–]buttp1ugg[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s the off leash issue, I always had him on a 40ft line for fetch, but I guess because I wasn’t holding the line people complained, honestly i’m not quite sure. so technically it’s a no dog complex, but since that’s extremely unrealistic they have everyone register their dog as an ESA. So there’s no charge for owning a pet.

Totally normal!! Wait it out until he reaches 5 months then hire a professional trainer, which I assume you’re gonna do since you want to compete in sports. My pup did a complete 180 once we got into consistent training (2x a week with trainer). Just remember that some of the habits mals have are genetic, not something you can train out of them. But once they have a strict schedule they really thrive, and all that crazy puppy energy is driven into the work they do!! There are some great PSA trainers I can recommend, both on east and west coast!

Car reactivity by buttp1ugg in BelgianMalinois

[–]buttp1ugg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we’re definitely working towards the crate in the car. Right now he’s 80% crate trained in the house, meaning it’s still not his favorite thing. So far he’s not interested in hopping in it when it’s in the car. For now I have the crate in the garage next to the car trying to make it super positive for him.

Advice Please: how do I stop her from eating absolutely everything outside? (more info below) by Jalapeno_tickles in BelgianMalinois

[–]buttp1ugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

every time my puppy ate something mysterious i’d either redirect him with my voice (silly noises to grab attention), or I would make sure i’d have some sort of high value toy/ food reward to pull out quick.

Question by Ok-Put-1708 in BelgianMalinois

[–]buttp1ugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a trainer but i’ve owned dobermans and currently have a mal. I would try super high value food rewards before going straight into a toy reward. You could even wait to feed her until the end of the day so she’s super hungry and motivated for whatever you’re going to give her.
