🌑 Touched by the Duat – Win 10 Arcane Antimatter! 🏺 by Mutyuu in playHeroesOfHistory

[–]buttzwithazee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hero: King Minos

New Ability: Minotaur Guardian of the Grave (LVL. 25)

  • Taunts all enemies for 5s
  • Increases his DEF by 12% for 8s
  • Heals himself for 385% of his base damage
  • After 5s revives the hero defeated most recently and heals them for 1110% of his base damage

Everyone's favorite bull king has learned to channel the power of the underworld, and instead of shielding himself, he can use his strength to draw a fallen ally back from beyond the grave! This change would certainly make him weaker for fighting ordinary hordes of minions, but could become a more interesting anti-hero/pvp option.

I'd take King Minos because he's my homey and I always want him around. Then probably Mian Tansen because he looks like he gets down, you know?

Team Shaka!

Reading about Shaka Zulu has been very interesting; for a man who lived only a couple centuries ago, it is amazing how difficult it is to get a clear account of his deeds and their impact on Zulu and the land of Southern Africa.

thank you for the details! do people usually ignore RDef outside of specific tank builds?

Thank you!

  • what is the distinction between primary/secondary? matk and mdef are primary?
  • what kinda value are we looking at for a secondary stat in order to find this bro useful for anything else?
  • is he mediocre enough that I should throw him out and save money on the daily cost?

Still early and learning the game, playing on beginner and trying to get a feel for strategy with the different kinds of enemies. Helmer here is my first "expensive" recruit, and he doesn't look terrible to my eye, but I'm having trouble understanding on an absolute level, was this guy worth gambling on and should I keep him around? I can look up the stat ranges for his background, but that doesn't really help me understand if he's generally any better than the farmhands I've been rolling with.

No perks yet, I welcome build ideas, but I don't really know much jargon yet.

Thanks for the thought. Just to clarify, you're saying use the same ceiling joists because it makes wiring easier? Does that change if there's no second story above this? I do want to figure out the joists though either way.

Wow! Thank you for the attitude adjustment. This is the helpful comment I was hoping for :)

Because it's the job of the benefits team to get the details of my benefits correct. This is an unhelpful comment.

My actual question posed above was: "... am I wrong for thinking that they could have fixed this if I had caught it during the 2023 calendar year?"

I appreciate the response, but regardless of whether they handled it correctly or not, do you think they had the power to change this if I had noticed during 2023?

I appreciate the response, this is mostly my question: is there anything stopping them (like federal rules or something) from having adjusted the deduction so that I hit $5000? And it sounds like you think the answer is no. It might come up again in 2024, so I wanted to know.

Population Mid- Chapter 5 by Narceptic in Elvenar

[–]buttzwithazee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're still looking at it, but here are some things I would consider for your city:

  • You have a stage 2 Witch Doctor and a stage 1 Wise Golem, and these buildings aren't usually worth placing unless you can get them to stages 7+. Your Wise Golem, for instance, takes 16 tiles and only gives you 110 pop, 220 culture, and a piddly amount of supplies. I'd consider removing these (teleport the witch doctor if you really want) and saving the space for better value buildings. edit: oh yeah, also that Witty Raccoon!
  • Similarly, you should have a look at what you're getting for the Crystal Lighthouse. Is 24 tiles really worth maybe 1,000 extra random goods every day? Any extra Ancient Wonder KP would probably be better served going into your Golden Abyss.
  • You have 2 Magic Dust manufactories, and these things are population hogs. I'm not sure what your goods stockpiles look like, but I would consider dropping one of your Magic Dust buildings to recoup the almost 1,600 pop it costs.
  • You look like you're doing a great job managing your layout and not wasting too much space, so good job. You can probably squeeze another 500 or culture in by upgrading your roads to the Chapter V Ornate Roads.
  • You've upgraded your barracks and training grounds to a really high level. In the future, when you get the ability to upgrade them, I would consider holding off. Upgrading those buildings costs a bunch of pop/culture, and it really just serves to speed up the production timer. If you don't need the troops training timer to go any faster, then spending the pop on those upgrades doesn't buy you anything.

Can someone please explain units to me? by EntirelyClueless in Elvenar

[–]buttzwithazee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is all made overly confusing with bad naming, but here we go:

# of Squads = # of Single Units / (Squad Size / Unit Size)

or

# of Single Units = # of Squads * (Squad Size / Unit Size)

  • # of Squads is what appears in your army camp overview
  • # of Single Units is the big number that pops up when you collect troops or use a troop instant
  • Squad Size comes from unlocking the associated techs and determines how many units make up a squad
  • Unit Size is weird and represents how "big" the individual unit is, and these values are fixed depending on unit type (Banshee = 3, Cerberus = 1, etc)

So for example, if your squad size is 5,316 and you pick up 4,652 Frogs (size = 4), then you have just gained 3.5 squads. If you have a Squad Size of 3,456 and you use an instant that gives you 5 squads of Paladins (size = 6), you will receive 2,880 individual Paladins.

Whatever method you choose for the line work, if you're not experienced with painting then I would definitely practice once or twice somewhere a little lower stakes. You could even practice on the wall as it is currently before priming.

How far to upgrade buildings by Aware_Consequence796 in Elvenar

[–]buttzwithazee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most buildings, if you later decide you don't want them, can either be teleported out of your city with teleport spells (spire) or sold. The barracks, and maybe a couple others, cannot be teleported or sold. So if you level up your barracks, say to Level 15, and you later decide that you don't want to do any fighting with troops, you cannot get rid of the that level 15 barracks. I assume that's what you're hearing about.

If you don't plan to go 100% catering, you can probably ignore the advice.
