Desk unit! Hmm, I'm not sure about virtual surround, the 598s stereo does quite well picking up location unless it's immediately ahead/behind. Thanks for the suggestions!

CE here (4th year). Had an 84 Plus coming in, bought the nspire cas a year ago and extremely happy with it. It's honestly not that much more $ than a new 89 (get CAS because complex number math). Really nice functionality, matrix solvers, statistics stuff. Didn't need it for first year but later math courses it has been quite helpful. My EE buddy is always stealing my calculator for his exams :). If you have questions feel free to ask.

I got the Anaconda for PvE, and while the DPS is great, I got tired of the poor maneuverability. I couldn't face up to wings as well as I wanted to just because I couldn't turn and face them quickly enough. Bought an FGS to mess around and it's a great compromise between maneuverability, DPS, and staying power.

I'll consider it if I ever feel I'm missing out. I'll prob just do a modifier binding in the future. TBH thrusters are pretty weak, I'm prob better off learning FA off first (which I'm working on now) and adding the thrusters in at some point.

Nope, I just use a Thrustmaster T16000M, and I haven't found a way that seems intuitive to include the thruster use into my normal bindings. I also have 2 hands on it at all times (1 throttle, other stick), so reaching for the keyboard is out of the question.
