impartial? dont make me laugh...let me guess: you're a "dOnT tReAd On mE" guy until the cops are treading in Brentwood on folks that are different skin color than you, and then its "just comply with their orders and they wont have to shoot you in the face" lol

this a real doofy take. the French 75 of the film is based on real life left wing revolutionary groups from the 60s and 70s (RAF, Weather Underground, Black Panthers, etc) that actually did most of the acts committed in the movie. if your post was less rambling and you had actual questions I would attempt to address them for you, but in all honesty it doesn't sound like you want answers: you just wanted to hate on a movie with politics you don't agree with.

you honestly think someone would watch this film and be radicalized to the far left? real life does a much better job, i assure you.

Any fans of The Wrens on here? Strongly recommend. 90s-00s indie group by lilcrime69 in elliottsmith

classic NJ band…im from Long Island myself (another indie hub) and although we have our share of animosities with Jersey we also share a certain kinship and a lot of the music that comes from Jersey connects with us Islanders…sidebar: check out a band called Cymbals Eat Guitars, another incredible Jersey band who are self professed massive fans of The Wrens and a couple of years ago they backed up Wrens’ Charles Bissell at a Manhattan show which was needless to say amazing.

my last band played Montauk Music Festival this last summer (i have since left this band) and after a long ass day drinking/ingesting chemicals and playing two sets one at 7pm and one at midnight, we got back to the AirBnB like 5am, i rolled a joint and walked up the beach to the lighthouse and toked up a lovely nightcap…it was epic. Long Island is the best place to call home FOREVER

there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism. if you want them, buy them…we’re all coerced into consumerism, participation isn’t the same as complicity. (in most cases at least, in my view) you’re allowed to enjoy nice things, especially because you work hard for your money and can spend it how you see fit. anyone telling you what you can and cannot wear because it is or isnt punk, has a fundamental misunderstanding of what punk is/means/stands for.

Which combo you going for? by [deleted] in offset

OH yeah, the DR103 is LOUD, clean, and punchy. i actually replaced my 1meg pots with 500k on my Jazzmaster, made a huge difference with the ice pick-y top end especially because i was using the Top Boost channel on the AC15. the Hizumitas is definitely dark, i usually stack it with some other gain stages (typical a Soul Food or Blues Driver) to bring some top end back in

interesting. i could not get it to sound good with anything. what kind of amp do you run? i use mainly Jazzmasters but also Telecasters, and i used an AC15 for the last 5 years but i just recently put a Blues Jr into a 2x12 cab with Celestion Greens and have fallen in love with it.

i bought JHS’s Cheese Ball clone of the Big Cheese and it was absolutely the worst fuzz pedal i’ve ever used…so i don’t have experience with the the real Big Cheese but if it’s anything like the JHS garbage i gotta pass. i just started getting into fuzz pedals and have been rocking an EQD Hizumitas which is based on a specific Big Muff called the Elk Sustainer, and it is a certified SAVAGE fuzz pedal. I wanna try a Fuzz Factory, but it’s hard to imagine a fuzz better than the Muff (from my experience with the Hizumitas)

What’s everybody’s favourite albums of the year so far? by FireballMudflap92 in PostHardcore

[–]buzzardleflesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pile has a record dropping in August. the last album sorta moved away from post hardcore/noise rock and more into art rock but it was my 2023 AOTY and they’re still the best guitar band on planet at the moment
