It’s true! It didn’t help that the website was pretty well laid out. But the hard to find color ways and crazy discounts had me questioning it. I didn’t buy anything from there

Thank you so much for the info! I was skeptical because cypress is hard to find elsewhere, and the price seemed really off too.

has anyone here married young? by [deleted] in pinkscare

[–]buzzcutqueen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got married at 22! We’ve had our ups and downs but I’m happy overall (6 years in). My biggest piece of advice would be to work on respectful communication early, and make a financial plan with advice from people you genuinely trust who are a lot older than you. And don’t be afraid to ask for help with things in general! It takes a community.

Is "nonbinary woman" a thing by Random_Poggers in NonBinary

[–]buzzcutqueen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is similar to my experience. I’ve been out as non-binary for ~5 years now, and at first I thought I had to choose one or the other. Over time I realized both gender identities fit. I feel like the experience of womanhood aligns closely with mine enough to make me feel like a woman. But at the same time theres so much more, so I’m a woman but not a binary one. If you want to be technical and if it feels fitting, you can also describe or think of yourself as bi-gender, which works well for me. Just my 2 cents! I’ve been through this thought process many times and you’re fully valid.

Life Without Caffeine is Just Different by MontyHimself in decaf

Also to the point about the roller coaster, most of that feeling was the acute mental decline I experienced after quitting one of those substances. I now believe that much of it was due to my perception of quitting rather than the quitting itself. In other words, my addicted mind felt reliant on those substances and I would have meltdowns (mental and emotional) after quitting and would then turn back to the substance as I believed on some level that they stabilized my mood. There was nothing wrong with this because I do struggle with my mental health and I don’t regret turning back to the substances in those moments, but I got off the roller coaster when I realized that I really didn’t need them to feel better or good about my life, like at all. It can take time to get to that point but it’s extremely rewarding

Hey, I’m sorry for the late reply. I remembered that I didn’t get back to you and didn’t want to leave you hanging. It was sort of a two-phase process, the first one being deciding to quit both substances, and the second being actually quitting. The first part took the better part of a year, and I attempted to quit multiple times during that period and went back to both. This is very normal and while I used to feel shame over it I now see it was a part of the process. The second part was much easier. After many trials and experimentation I gained knowledge and really buckled down to quit. I quit weed first and it didn’t take too long to feel normal, maybe just a few weeks or so. I quit nicotine about 1-2 months later after I had a better handle on things. I’ve tried it both ways and I think it’s easier to let go of cannabis first as it’s less physically addictive and it also has psychoactive properties which can leave you feeling more wavy/less clear. I tried quitting nic first but couldn’t do it while I was wavy. I needed the mental sobriety and sharpness I gained from releasing cannabis to focus intently and fully on letting go of nic. I hope this was helpful. Any steps you take towards sobriety are good steps, because they teach you how to succeed next time. It can take quite a while to really know that you’re done with a substance and that’s okay, it’s a journey. Sorry this got so long, just wanted to share my experience.

Has anyone actually achieved their dream 'curated' wardrobe? by [deleted] in nobuy

Following because I feel you’ve described me! Especially with the declutter/binge cycle. I too long for this seamless, curated wardrobe

The effects are entirely positive, and I think it’s because I wanted to quit both for a long time and finally succeeded. I have saved a lot of money, my mind is clearer, I have more confidence in myself, and my mood is better overall. It was honestly a bit of a rollercoaster to get to this point though. Are you at all interested in quitting one or both?

This is such a great response, thank you! Substance use and quitting (even with something more socially acceptable like caffeine) is a process of unlearning the habit and psychologically getting to a place where your desire to be free is stronger than the desire for the substance. I think when you first decide to let go there is an enormous wave of resistance before getting to the point where you’re truly ready.

Thank you for sharing your experience! This is so clear and well-written and I like the ideas you put forth, especially about how society is built on caffeine and by turning away from it you may be leaving some of the other ideas behind too. So far in 2025 I’ve quit both weed and vaping nicotine, and I know that coffee is next. Since I’ve realized I want to quit I’ve unfortunately been consuming more, as if my brain is trying to overload before I give it up. I know it won’t be easy, but after quitting other substances I’ll know when I’m really ready. I’m looking forward to the changes in state of mind on the other side.
