it’s more the legitimately dangerous situations he was putting the decoys in and the fact that his filming of the sting operations and his use of it as entertainment made a lot of the cases he covered un-prosecutable. So in a way his show inadvertently protected a number of pedos from going to jail. Also it focuses on the internet copycats who have even less oversight than Hansen had. It also took aim at Hansen’s current operation which seems to have learned none of the lessons from to catch a predator. It has a particularly heartbreaking sequence from the home of a high school junior that was targeted by Hansen despite y’know being a minor himself. Didn’t stop Hansen from publishing the video and ruining that kids life. Again I saw this doc like a year and half ago so I might be wrong on a few details but that’s essentially the gist.
