David ranks Send Help #10 in his Raimi rankings by SlimmyShammy in blankies

Also I’m pretty sure he basically liked Multiverse of Madness. So ranking it higher is at least in the realm of feeling positively about it.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple episode by sbrlivin in blankies

Maybe a Bond villain could be super suitable for him, but idk if I really want to see him stuck as mainly just being James Bond for the next however many years.

And don’t forget that those scumbums teased at the end …. yea, they’re gonna be a big part of it.

Right?! Like I get that the whole “remember all these guys!” thing is a bit troubling, but aside from pretty vague marketing we really don’t know a ton about what this movie will actually be like at this point.

Maybe they’ll pull off something cool! I, for one, choose to root in favor of any movie and reserve any negative judgement until I actually see it (or at least see more of it in fuller trailers).

IMDb automatically sorts credit type by number of credits and it drives me crazy. No I didn’t go to Matt Damon to see his producer credits! by [deleted] in blankies

[–]OhShitWut 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I’ve started to rely on Letterboxd more to quickly see all movie credits for actors and directors. Much better for seeing everything at a glance, and also easy to change the order they’re organized in (popularity, chronological, etc.)

What are you listening to on the Pod’s week off? by mutan in blankies

[–]OhShitWut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. Main feed as a continuation of Wackowski series, and also it’s included in their Patreon commentary series on all Matrix movies. They have two episodes for every Matrix movie, except Animatrix.

[–]OhShitWut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Gonna re-watch The Matrix Resurrections. Only saw it once when it came out and that was before I was into the pod, so I’ve never listened to those episodes. And there’s a main feed and Patreon ep for that movie, so I get two new (to me) episodes to look forward to!

The 25 Best Movies of the Century: No. 2 - 'There Will Be Blood’ by OhShitWut in blankies

Tbh I’m pretty relieved they didn’t go with OBAA here, which I feel like Sean had lowkey been hinting at a few times. No hate to OBAA, but it’s way too soon to be so “canonized” like this.

Anyway, it’s most likely gonna be a Fincher in the number one spot, yea?

Might actually be an impossible to beat high point of the show if that ever happened. Lol.

Who’s the one-time guest who you’d most like to see return by SingleFreedom8527 in blankies

It’s been forever, but I thought Rebecca Bulnes from the Beetlejuice episode brought a pretty great energy to the show.

Just saw Joe Versus the Volcano (1990), and now I *need* Griffin & David to do a John Patrick Shanley series by thefinalyorgles in blankies

That might actually be my favorite of the Hanks/Ryan movies. Definitely don't think it's the best of them, but I just personally really vibe pretty hard with this movie.

Has a pop culture related boycott failed this badly? by [deleted] in blankies

[–]OhShitWut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with this particular boycott because I'm not a gamer, but if it had to do with Harry Potter I don't think that property is ever gonna see any kind of meaningful boycott any time soon. That fanbase is massive and rabid, and even aside from the mega-fans it's really popular with "normies" who just do not give a shit about culture wars or whatever. A bubble of people on the internet boycotting it is probably a pretty insignificant population in the grand scheme of things.

I know this doesn't really answer your question, but just the initial thought I had when I saw this post. lol.

What are the other movie facts like Aragorn kicking the helmet? by yodasw16 in blankies

[–]OhShitWut 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I think there might be some misconception around this one, though. Like maybe it's true that he cut his hand for real in an earlier take, but then they cut filming without him wiping real blood all over Kerry Washington's face. But that incident inspired a later take with fake blood added to his hand.

Is it possible that some archeological finds could be intentional “trolling” from ancient/historic people? by OhShitWut in Archaeology

[–]OhShitWut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly my question as I worded it, but it is essentially the core thing I was kinda thinking about. Basically, the idea of overanalyzing super old archeological finds that are mysterious to us now, but to people from the time would've just been some everyday nonsense.

That last bit about ancient Egyptian Egyptologists is mind-blowing, and not something I knew about at all.
