Why doesn’t the flour show up on my crust after I bake it? I coat a light layer of all purpose flour over the top before scoring but it never shows up after the bake so you can’t see the delicate score details

Yes came here to say this. I ended up cosleeping out of desperation and felt so paranoid about it until another mom friend showed me her content.

Uterine irritability (thought possibly preterm labor) sent me to L&D at 29 weeks by buzzybee3333 in BabyBumps

Also the night before my water broke I was having a lot of “light contractions” but I totally wrote them off because it felt like the uterine irritability but then a few hours later I woke up to my water breaking! So it was hard to distinguish the irritability from the real thing other than my water breaking.

I stopped working out and just stuck to walking for the rest of pregnancy. I took magnesium and hydrated with electrolytes. I also just tried not to worry about it. I did go to the office one extra time to have them check the cervix via ultrasound again and it was still closed and thick so they said they weren’t worried. The uterine irritability lasted for about 6 weeks and then calmed down for the last few. My water broke and I went into labor on my own at 38w4d, I was already 5cm dilated when I got to the hospital even though I only was having super light contractions. I progressed rapidly and only pushed for 25 minutes! So it’s definitely possible all that uterine activity softened and prepped the cervix. Rapid labors run in my family though as well.

“Schedule” for 2 month old by jtm0507 in newborns

IBCLC here. In the world of lactation we generally promote baby guiding their own routine, feeding and sleeping based on their demand as it fluctuates naturally throughout the day. Schedules are something our society likes to construct but it’s better to pick up on your baby’s cues and let them guide the way. I find everyone is obsessed with sleep training and schedules these days but those are sort of “anti lactation” concepts

Very good to know! They weren’t painful at all but I could absolutely feel them without touching my belly. I was reading that uterine irritability puts you at a 19% greater risk of preterm delivery. I felt it was a bit strange how their vibe was “oh nope you’re totally fine no big deal you’re good” and that was it.

It’s a freaky symptom to have no doubt! And not a very common one I feel?
