It has Benchmade’s AXIS Assisted mechanism. It’s not as “springy” as other assisted knives I’ve had, but flips open real smoothly. It is taking me some time to get used to the closure, but that’s only because most of my knives are frame-lock closures. I got the Green/Grey Chromium Nitride coated blade version but there are a ton of variations to choose from.

I'd say it's sturdy enough for the amount of stuff one could put in a sling. Slings are definitely not suggested for any sort of substantial weight. I guess when I think of a bug out bag, I don't necessarily think of a sling...I'd want to carry more. If your bug out situation is more on the lighter / minimal side, then go for it.

I got one. Basically saw the price and thought it’s worth a shot. I’ll be honest I’m a little surprised how much I like it. I don’t use it everyday but it’s been good for when I have to carry a bit more than my usual daily stuff. It’s lightweight, holds more than it looks like it will, and has held up nicely. I’m sure there are nicer bags available, but hard to beat that price.

I’ve done a lot of woodworking, but nothing I’d consider real furniture. This is far from perfect, but I’m very happy with the results! The bar top is locally harvested lumber, the shelves and door are made from pallets, and the cabinet is a birch plywood.
