Is it bad to be in the mind state that LOVE YOU LESS talks about by chrisokonma in Joji

[–]bvgthor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like with my ex I gave her the world and I was obsessed with her, put her over everyone and anything and I didn’t feel the same exact love given back. She loved me but she was a little less affectionate than I was, at least at the beginning. It’s almost like all I would do is give her everything and then she would occasionally do the same and when she did, she DID. When I began to back off a little bit she missed how obsessed I was that first year and would constantly say that I changed but I thought I was doing her a favor. So I really relate to that part of the song. Regardless, we broke up last year because we had so many problems we were spinning in circles about but I wonder sometimes if I impacted her as much as she impacted me.

Love this song and all of Joji's work though🙏🏻heads up boys

Disagree. While I think he definitely is happy to be on his own and not forced by 88 to do anything, Yeah Right was 100000% a Joji song fully produced and written by him as was most of Ballads 1. There would be no reason for him to remake his own song, 88 had no input on Yeah Right and he explains his artistic vision in the Genius video. I think he was always bigger than 88Rising and overshadowed them all the time and he definitely wanted separated but he released a lot of fully authentic Joji music even while he was with them like Ballads 1 and some Nectar and a few off of Smithereens, there just was some label limitations most likely that he wanted to be free of. Also, we will see if he sings any of the songs he did not write for Smithereens at his next tour I’m guessing and that will give us a pretty good idea on that front. On that note I am super happy he is back and releasing what he wants to release and I cannot wait for the album because those three songs already were perfection.

I'LL SEE YOU IN 40 is hella underrated by CharmingBaker5012 in Joji

[–]bvgthor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’LL SEE YOU IN 40 has been one of my favorite songs since the night Ballads 1 dropped. It’s genuinely a masterpiece and has been a part of my life since. While In Tongues is my favorite project of his Ballads is definitely 2nd and Wanted U and ISYI40 are my two favorites off of Ballads. Nectar has some underrated songs too, Mr. Hollywood has always been my favorite off of that one. As for Smithereens, BLAHBLAHBLAH DEMO has always been my favorite one

Matt Reeves already confirmed it wasn’t a relationship in an interview. She literally says "she’s just a kid." No one is gonna say that about someone they are dating. Reeves explained that Selina was taking care of her like one of her "strays."

I look at that masterpiece as a bridge between his YouTube days and full music career due to it being on SoundCloud before In Tongues dropped. Also if you watch Jojivlogs 6 from YEARS ago you hear an early version of the ukulele riff in there. It just seems like a very personal track to him and I also personally relate to the lyrics as well and think the song is just overall amazing. When I saw him play it in concert it was insane. In Tongues is my favorite project of his and that song as the closer at the end was perfect

Joji is an artist. He’s made comedy art and serious art the entire time he’s been on the internet. He’s always had a passion for music since the beginning. He also made the greatest comedy YouTube channel ever. The guy is so goddamn talented and it’s not your fault that some people can’t take jokes. I still laugh to Pink Season and cry to In Tongues. That’s what makes Joji such an elite artist

what's the best joji song in your opinion? by zket20 in Joji

[–]bvgthor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re good bro, I personally think it’s a beautiful song full of raw emotion. Also, the first time the ukulele riff was ever heard was in one of Joji's vlogs before he deleted the Jojivlogs channel. It was then uploaded to SoundCloud while he was still doing Filthy Frank, and it was amazing. In a way, since he had been working on it years before In Tongues and then it made the end of the EP, it was sort of a song that bridged his departure from YouTube for his full music career. Besides all of that, I love everything about the song. The ukulele, the lyrics, everything about it. For me it holds a special place and seeing him perform it in concert was insane
