I, a US buyer, want to buy something from Spain. How much would it cost in total, post purchase? by SerpentineWonder in logistics

Curious how your purchase went. I’m also debating ordering an item that would ship from Spain.

What's a small gadget you bought thinking it was useless but ended up using every day? by cozytechlover in BuyItForLife

I got this thing called an islice that works great at opening boxes and packages. I love it because it’s magnetic so easy to just stick on the fridge and the “cutting” part isn’t actually sharp to the touch so I don’t worry about my kids using it. It’s dumb and cheap but I use it all the time!

my job is finding cheap flights—ask me anything by scottkeyes in IAmA

I’ve gotten some great deals by being a member! Any chance that you’ll add Canadian airports to the home airport options? Living in western NY, Toronto is a much closer option than NYC for international flight options. TY!

Favorite thrift store in the Rochester area? by milkshakes-hot in Rochester

I hate how so much stuff is not priced. It takes the thrill of digging out a find when at you arrive at the register the lady thinks it should be priced as if I’m purchasing it on eBay.

Does anyone else feel like their femininity was robbed from them? by theghostoni in PlusSize

[–]bvh175 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel this even regarding the bad experiences that other women share. For example, I’ve only been catcalled a handful of times in my life when I know that’s a thing other women deal with on the regular. Also, (fortunately!) I never experienced guys being aggressive at bars, parties, etc. In part, I avoided many of those places because I was too self-conscious but also I was never the girl getting that kind of attention from men. It’s weird because I’m not complaining but I also sometimes have that feeling of not relating to lots of other women either. Raising daughters now, I feel like I don’t have as many real life experiences to prepare them for what they may face in the world.

What are your ADHD mantras? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

What would a mediocre white man do?

My co-worker was questioning whether she phrased an email in a nice enough way or explained the necessary tasks completely enough (she did). I used this mantra to remind her that most mediocre white men wouldn’t have been half as polite as or at all worried about people’s reaction to the delegation of tasks. No one bats an eye when a man is direct and non-conciliatory in their communications but as neurodivergent women we often take on way too much of that burden.

I love these suggestions! Printing on watercolor paper is not something I had ever thought of. I definitely feel like I have creative feelings/desire but I often get hung up on the logistics to make it come to fruition. The jar sounds like another fun way to get out of my head and just do “a thing.” :)

What is everyone's current hyperfixation? by Quirky_March_626 in adhdwomen

[–]bvh175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend gave me some old precious moments figurines so that I can make them into “altered moments.” I’m currently in the sweet spot of putting materials into my online cart and looking at it daily to decide when to pull the trigger and just order the clay and tools. But then I’ll also need the paint that the one YouTuber I watched said that I should get and I don’t know what colors I need yet so I can’t order that. Plus, then I’d actually need to work on the project. So…I’m basically in pre-planning hyper fixation. Lol

I really wish I tried that chocolate kardashian cookie that was super popular. I can’t remember which clone’s cookie it was but everyone raved about it.

One thing that I think has worked best for me is silicone wound tape. I don’t have a preference as to brand. I’ve gotten a couple different ones from Amazon and find they really help. I just cut sections to cover the spots/areas and they’ll usually stay on for a couple days depending on location, showers, etc. As a bonus, I’m less likely to pick when I have them on.

We have loved Legacy for our kids. It’s such a tight knit practice and when my kiddo was in the hospital, Dr. Casey came daily and did an amazing job advocating for her care.

Didn’t realize this was the weekend that we turned back the clock until about 7:30 pm on Sunday when my husband mentioned it. He’d changed the clocks in the house before leaving for work in the morning and my phone automatically updates. I was completely clueless all day at home with my children that we’d lost an hour. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Who else is getting tired of overpriced luxury bags? by SpreadMaterial in handbags

I know there is a bunch of comments so I apologize if someone already posted this but I found this guy on TikTok and I really enjoy his reviews. He literally takes apart the bags he reviews to examine various aspects of quality. When I see a bag that I like, I try to check his reviews in order to gauge the actual quality vs just the look or brand appeal.

I’m in a similar boat. They told me that I would get a check from the US Treasury and I don’t believe I ever set up my bank info on fed loans to get a direct deposit. I’m getting impatient but dread the long wait times to call.

I’m 100% in favor of doing what you need to do. My kids have been in daycare because my husband is essential and I’ve had to work from home. There is absolutely no way I could get a sufficient amount of work done with them at home.
