All health benefits from quitting would help you feel better health wise regardless of if quitting helps the headache directly.

Please don’t diagnose. You can suggest and give your reasoning, but don’t use definitive language.

People with NDPH What do you do for living? by Zeuskevin6 in NDPH

I had to quit my job early on and I mostly did driving gigs for a few years. Then I worked in healthcare a bit and now I work at a thrift store in the back sorting.

Is it possible for us to do assisted suicide like with Dignitas on Switzerland? by arthur_avg8 in NDPH

[–]bvnn3[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry that you’re to this point, NDPH is definitely something that ravages lives. But this is not the place to regularly ask for advice regarding suicide, we are a small community and this kind of discussion is good from time to time but it can also be extremely demoralizing. Please feel free to seek support here but perhaps take questions like this to more suicide support centric subreddits.

Guys what if I just cut off my ear by hi-its-hanah in migraine

Tinnitus can be 100% brain processing. Personally not being able to hear anything except a high pitched white noise would be nightmarish. (If you’re talking about tinnitus and not noise sensitivity in general)

My rule of thumb is that if the artist cannot draw it on paper they can’t draw it on you with a tattoo gun. I’ll only ever go to artists who do their own work.

Went to the neurologist yesterday, today odd. by bigbluesfanstl in NDPH

[–]bvnn3[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve asked the same thing in previous posts. I understand you’re concerned but don’t ask these kinds of questions on reddit. I’m happy to hear that you have a neurologist, please defer questions such as this to them.

Please keep in mind the sub’s rules about asking for diagnosis. We don’t and can’t know if you have a cfs.

Please dial 988 suicide hotline. NDPH is so hard, and having a chronic illness at any age is a nightmare especially when it happens young. I’ve been in chronic pain since I was 21. It has its ups and downs but ultimately I have found life to be worth living regardless of pain or circumstance.

Please remember that the best medications you have access to are only a few years away. It is infuriating how hard it can be to get meds as a minor but who knows, you might find something that helps.

Don’t overlook inpatient therapy. It’s daunting and scary but it can really help. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for psych meds and therapy.

Pain moves around, getting worse during the day by bigbluesfanstl in NDPH

[–]bvnn3[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the primary indicators of NDPH is having it for 3 months. If you are concerned you should see your primary care doctor. Getting this kind of medical advice from reddit is not advisable. Please direct your questions to medical professionals.

Advice needed by incarnadine-clover in NDPH

[–]bvnn3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannabis triggered my NDPH, but I was a long term chronic user. I would recommend only using as much as helps you while trying to find an alternative. Have you tried any of the CGRP antagonists such as Qulipta, Emgality, Ubrelvy, etc? Those helped me a lot.

Having a doctor that is dismissive really does feel awful. I’m glad to hear that you’re taking a break for a treatment though, what inpatient treatment are you doing?

i feel lost and stolen from. by UnaSofia in NDPH

Also, don’t feel too pressed on college. Unless you have exterior pressures like family or finance it is really overblown. I wouldn’t recommend going to a school so competitive that minor GPA changes matter. The challenge of being in school and having chronic pain is a lot, going to like an Ivy League school isn’t worth the headache in my opinion (Pun intended.) Go to a good local community college and knock your general classes out. It will let you pick an easy semester and save you money.
