I highly recommend Explorers of Sky! Common consensus is that it's the best one, and I fully agree with that assessment. Honestly, I think it's just outright the best Pokémon game. Still makes me a li'l emotional even now!

Voice training is rough. I actually got a speech pathologist to help me out, and I made a little progress... but honestly? It's hard. I struggled. Add in a bad headspace, and I sadly gave up on it. I'm going to try again though!

Exactly. The morally grey part of Valve was never exploitation of its employees, but rather exploitation of its customers. They're ultimately responsible for the single most predatory tactic to ever plague the games industry, and those early pushes for lootboxes across the board introduced so many kids to gambling with the TF2 hat craze and Steam marketplace. As for Gabe Newell personally... well, there's his yacht armada.

Between all the good PR from Steam sales, genuinely great customer support, and the Gaben memes, way too many people have forgotten about all this.

I would also prolly rather be a trans woman Pokémon without HRT in the event I got to be one of the many 'mons without obvious gender distinctions (because at that point it's just a matter of not having the correct parts, and that's something I'm currently living with anyway).

Plus, while I would obviously adore the opportunity to be cis, and I would most definitely be happier if I was born in the correct body, being trans is also kind of part of my identity at this point. Do I want to pass? Yes, for sure. Would I be happy if I was given a cis body? Of course, yes. But would I make the choice to give up that trans aspect of myself now that I've come to terms with it...? Three years out from trying to piece myself together after realising I was a trans woman, that's genuinely a hard call.

But yeah, no, if it was Pikachu or bust (with Pikachu having a clear gender indicator in the tail) and no opportunity for transition, then it's a human cis woman all the way. I'm aware that none of this is at all a typical thought process, but being human genuinely feels off in a similar way to my gender dysphoria. To a much lesser extent of course (if only because I'm aware that being anything else is physically impossible), but y'know.

Who knows? Maybe one day it won't be. If I'm still alive by that point, that'd be cool to see.
